I started using this product in the winter for extra color, and now I am using it year-round! It's my first step in my make up routine, and some days it's the only thing I put on. This is a nice shimmer shadow that adds some glitz but is ok for the office. You can pile it on and use a wet brush on the lashline for a night look or put it on more sparingly during the day and not look overdone.

I absolutely LOVE Bobbi's Metallic Eye Shadow. I have hazel eyes and I purchased the Sage Metallic Eye Shadow. At first I thought that putting a green color on my eyelids would make my eyes look too dark. Not so! The shimmer from the eye shadow makes the gold flecks in my eyes pop right out! My eyes look brighter - which is important when you work too hard and don't get enough sleep! I love Bobbi Brown products and that's all I will ever use!

I really like the color of this eye shadow, it has a beautiful hue and the metallic look makes it great for night as well as day. I put it on and 6 hours later it looked the same as it did when I put it on. It stayed on for hours. It looked great with the chocolate shimmer gel eye liner.

I first started using the metallic eye shadow several months ago when I got a free sample with one of my purchases. I now have the "Rockstar" and "Heather Mauve" shades. The metallic eye shadows, like all of Bobbi Brown's eye shadows, have a long-lasting pigment and do not create streaks in the fine lines of the eyelid. I'm in a rush, but I'm a beauty product junkie. Won't go out without a polished look. What do I do...what do I do?I always end up reaching for the little squares of Metallic Eyeshadow. Without a brush and barely looking, I swipe the Pink Champagne square with my finger and wipe it across each eyelid from root to brow. Then I take ANY of the deeper, but very wearable, shade and with another swipe, pat it into the outer corner up and inward. With mascara and a quick liner, I'm good to go!And when I want to be more precise, I use brushes and, wet or dry, create a rich illuminated eye.With a moisturized bare face, the look is sunny and shimmery. With a matte or sculpted face, the shimmer of any of the Metallic Eyeshadows bring lift and light upward to the eyes, and the look is rich and sophisticated.I have created a light summer look of shimmer, as well as stylized disco look with the same products -- it all depends on the intensity of application.

I purchased Forest and Velvet Plum. Normally I wouldn't buy anything for my eyes in green or pink (lest it be reddish) especially online, but these are fabulous, subtle colors.I have used them for lining my upper lid so far, but I'm just waiting for the opportunity to use them for a not-too-outrageous, but sexy and grown-up night-time eye by sweeping them up into the crease and blending on my lid.These are definitely metallic and not glittery or shimmery, and they are every bit as nicely milled as the other Bobbi shadows; no chunks of glitter to be found here.

After staying far away from most "metallic" shadows for the past 15 years or so, I decided to take a risk and trust BB when she debuted her own shimmery-metallic colors. I'm so glad I did! These are not the metallics of the 1980s, but are instead part of a wonderful collection of lovely shades with a sophisticated, velvety-smooth finish and a more-subdued, "adult" shimmer appearance. I have a few of the colors, and they all go on superbly (with no skips or flakiness), and last all day. They're also easy to pair with her signature matte shades, for creating a beautiful, modern eye look.

I've tried a few of the metallic eye shadows and all have been nice and neutral shades that just shimmer and add a little oomph to your eyes without looking too overdone. Some do have glitters in them and I didn't like those because I'm not a glitter person. I hope they do add better color descriptions so you know which ones do and which ones don't. But overall, these are nice long-lasting, high shimmer, crease-free eye shadows. Also love that you can buy them separately or add them to a palette.

I have 2 shades of these: cognac and forest. The cognac really looks pretty with blue eyes and I pair it with a dark gray liner. The forest is darker than I had expected from the picture on the website -- it is very dark and, to me, best used as a liner. But I have fair skin -- perhaps someone darker complected would be able to use it as a shadow.The metallics are very pretty and shimmery, but not with too much sparkle. I wear them to work -- they're not the kind of super-shimmery make-up that make you look like you're heading out clubbing.Also, they really don't crease. I love that.

I tried this product after the one I'd been using for years was discontinued. I was very surprised and pleased with the formula, and will be sticking with it! Don't be scared of the dark color in the tube - it blends easily with your fingers and soaks into your skin to give you a natural-looking bronze, unlike powder bronzers which can appear cakey on the skin, and flake off during the day. The only drawback is the scent, which could be more pleasant - however, I've since gotten used to it and it doesn't bother me at all anymore.

I had to add another positive review for this gel bronzer. It is not at all orange on me, it is a deep tan color with slight reddish undertones (I have the original color). I'm a BB sand with cool undertones and find many bronzers too golden/orange for my complexion. Because of the red undertones, this matches almost exactly the natural tones of my cheeks/forehead/nose if I were to spend an afternoon in the sun. It is very concentrated so I find the best application is to put a little on a sponge, tapping the excess off first or to put a bit on the tips of my fingers and tap them together to blend - then tap onto any areas that I want to look sunkissed. I've applied both prior to and after foundation successfully and used it in combination with powder bronzers, blushes and shimmerbricks. I even put it on my arms and legs sometimes to counteract any pastiness.I like the sleek, black tube packaging as well, particularly the flip top as I find screw top containers annoying. It's oil-free, has broad spectrum SPF and has never irritated my sometimes sensitive skin. Very versatile product.

Fun colors and ramped-up shimmer make these colors outstanding and elegant enough for older women who want a bit more fun in their eye shadow. They are not sparkly and do not fall into fine lines or creases. Instead, they give a bit of flair to the eyes without looking overly trendy or too youthful. I like the racier colors of some of the other lines; however, they are often too bold and too drying, and succeeded only in making me look like I was trying too hard. That won't happen with this range. I have Bash and it is one of the prettiest greens I have ever seen. These are wearable enough for day and can build easily into a dramatic night-time look.

Most of the Metallic shadows have a wonderful texture, and this is one of the best. I really wouldn't consider it metallic at all, but it's got a really pigmented and velvety texture. It's finely-milled and well pressed also, so a little of the product in the huge pan goes a long way. The shade is a neutral deep raisin color and is amazing for green eyes. I don't love every metallic shadow from Bobbi Brown I've tried, but of the ones I love, this is the best. It's like a deeper and cooler Chanel Cinnamon and I do consider it a must-have whether you like neutral looks, or bold ones. I can see this appealing to people who aren't even really the Bobbi Brown "type". The addition of the Metallic range of shadows has really drawn me even more to this brand, because the texture and color choices are really great.

Like all of Bobbi's powder shadows, the metallic formula is silky and feels creamy when applied. Be aware that these are intense pigments, and when they say high shine, they mean it. These are very fun shadows, but a light hand and blending are called for when applying. Start light and build to get the desired effect. Mine are strictly for evening.

Love Bobbi's eye shadows. Similar to the blushes, I think the color selection is a stand out feature along with the great texture & staying power.Regarding the Metallic shades in particular, I find the ones I've tried to have good color saturation and lots of sparkle. The texture is easy to use, I can even apply/blend them with my fingers. The only caveat I have is one of personal taste - the shades I've tried had micro-glitter which I don't mind on eyelids except that mine migrated, mainly during application. No matter how I applied or what brush/implement/finger I used I couldn't keep the glitter from ending up all around my eye area. I will say, once it settles it stays - I needed makeup remover/cleanser to get it off. To resolve this issue, I apply my eye makeup first, clean up any extra sparkle, and then put on my tinted moisturizer/blush but that means I end up reserving these for special occasion to avoid the hassle.

When these were first introduced I thought I would never purchase even one of them, because when any other makeup company comes out with a metallic eye shadow…I can be sure it will make my eyes look like The Tin Woodsman’s;)Last year Bobbi Brown introduced The Pink Bronzed Collection, and I just had to have it. Most of the items in the collection were basics that I didn’t own so I went for the complete look. With a lot of trepidation, I purchased the Bronzed Pink Metallic Eye Shadow…LE. When I first touched it…It almost felt like cream eye shadow. Impressive! It looks very natural, and although it has shimmer, it’s soft, and when combined with the matte shadows…gives me a wonderful summery look.Then Nordstrom presented the Cocoa Mauve collection for Fall of 2008. The eye shadow was Iced Mauve…a shade that’s cross between Lavender and Velvet Mauve...very neutral... very wearable for daytime. Love it!This summer Nordstrom presented a collection called “Bobbi Brown Must-Haves”. In it is a two-pan palette with Hot Stone and Nude Beach Metallic. What a find! This can be a day or evening look. Wow…The Nude Beach Metallic mixed with Hot Stone makes me look well…like I’m hanging out at the Beach:)I know that these three shades were exclusive to sets, but using them made me realize that when BB does something…It’s never over the top, and always wearable.Just recently I purchased the Midnight Metallic. This one IS available. A makeup artist used it to line my eyes…gorgeous! It’s a soft dark luminous midnight blue that jazzes up my eyes. Wow! My eyes look so classy lined in this shadow, and again…it’s soft and totally wearable.These shadows are ageless. I know that I can trust Bobbi Brown to go just slightly out of her comfort zone, and create products that even a neutral girl like me can have fun with. Ever since I began playing with makeup, I have owned a bobbi brown eyeshadow, and since then, the eyeshadows have been a frequent occupant in my makeup kit. They are used in both my professional and personal life. Of the variety of shadows offered by bobbi (matte, shimmer, metallic), these are a bit more fun, and create a more modern look. They are more pigmented than the shimmer washes, giving more color to the lids, so I use them for slightly more dramatic looks. The color of all time would have to be forest: it looks good on absolutely everyone!

I bought the Champagne Quartz metallic eye shadow for my wedding. It looked great then, and I use it all the time now. Even though it's metallic I can wear it for everyday, even for a more pared-down look. The Metallic Eye Shadow is advertised as "high pigment" and it is. I could really tell a difference between this formula and BB's other eye shadows. This is step up in intensity from normal shadow, but is still super wearable.

I have used this in the original color over and believe it or not but UNDER my foundation to warm up my skin tone. In both cases I use a foundation brush and pat the gel onto my skin. This give a very natural, seamless glow to my complexion. I'd like to give this product 3 1/2 stars if I could. The color selection is very decent, and the shadows are good quality. Despite the amount of powdery fallout, the metallic shadows have never irritated my eyes. However, the metallic shadows are not the smooth metallic texture I'm used to when I think "metallic". They are very shimmery, or rather, slightly glittery. Still, the metallic shadows are super soft and pretty on.

Warm Glowing Complexion All Year Round

Bobbi Brown has done an amazing job on this product. I had purchased the bronzing gel in "Golden Sun" and it looks natural all year round. As a first time user of a bronzing gel, I was a bit nervous of what the results would be, especially purchasing this online. What I love about this product is that it gives a natural color, NO ORANGE. Depending on how much of the product you apply, you can give yourself a warm glow for the winter season, or a sunkissed look for the summer. Bobbi Brown products are ones that can be trusted, especially if you come from a small city that has no Bobbi Bown locations within one hundred miles from where you live. Thank you Bobbi!

Perfect metallic shadow

pros:

...too often I've come across 'metallic' shadows that have large, flaky, particles of mica etc, but this one doesn't... It's perfect, applies smoothly, with great color saturation and is a great color (pewter). I'd definitely buy this shadow again. Any of the colors are perfect when you want to glam it up a bit, but the pewter color has wider possibilities beyond that (I think) to general evening wear.

Beautiful shades of eye shadows. The metallic finish is actually the most gorgeous soft luminizing effect on the eyes. Like everything else BB, it is totally wearable and never over the top. With the Metallics I have created office appropriate looks as well as dramatic evening looks for special occasions. It all depends on the choice of colors, the combinations as all shades are buildable.

I sought the online makeup artist's suggestions--I have poor sales resistance and end up buying lots of products I don't ultimately like when I go to a counter.She suggested the Forest shadow as a liner color for my golden-green hazel eyes, with the Woodrose matte as a lid color. Home run! The metallics are not a problem with any crepey lid texture because the edge of the lid is smooth. It doesn't look teeny-bopper or drag queen either--just blurrier than the matte. Very flattering! Lasts, to, if you apply with a damp brush--and maybe otherwise, but I use a damp brush.

I have this in Burnt Sugar as as well as some limited edition colors and these are my favorite BB shadows (along with the Long Wear and white-esque powder shadows, that is)! These metallic shadows are not overtly glittery - they're very elegant worn either alone or layered over another BB shade. I'm over 50 and won't wear shadows that are garish or look too young. You just can't go wrong with BB Metallics. Plenty of color, plenty of glamour... plenty of look!

I am skeptical about tanning type products in general and I was especially skeptical with this product. I was not sure if I would like it or if it was safe to use. I asked my makeup artist about it and she said that it was safe.So, I agreed for her to use it on me and I was so surprised at how natural and beautiful it made me look. It blended in so well into my skin without any streaks or lines. It was lightweight and without the greasiness or shine. The All Over Bronzing Gel is a very natural way to fake a tan.You only need a tiny bit and it does not run or smear once you put it on. It is very easy to blend into the skin. You can use your fingers or a foundation brush. And the price is very reasonable. This is a wonderful product especially for people with pale skin like myself who want color but do not want to sit in the sun. I highly recommend this product.

The All Over Bronzing Gel is a great product to wear alone, but I love mixing it into my facial sunscreen to give me a sun kissed look.I am religious about wearing sunscreen everyday, but the high SPF ones tend to leave my face white and masky. So, I found that mixing the Bronzing Gel and sunscreen in my palms before applying (maybe 2 parts SPF, 1 part Bronzing Gel) is the perfect solution to that! Not only does it add healthy dose of color, but I feel like it makes my pores less visible and my skin tone more even. And, it does not rub off like foundation or tinted moisturizers so I can wear them to go running, to the beach or to the gym. Color is perfect worn alone or together with my sunscreen.My only wish is that it was a gradual tanner, so that the tan would build up even after washing my face, and that more colors were offered so I can change colors depending on how tan I am in the season.

I like this better than bronzing powder because it lasts on my skin! I had to work to figure out best way to apply, and for me that is with my BB foundation brush or fingers. It "stains" fingers a bit (washes off with soap and water) but that must be why it lasts and lasts on the face! A little goes a long way- I use a TINY amount and it covers cheeks, nose and forehead. Love the desert sun color as I naturally tend to get reddish brown rather than golden in sun. Works great on my super oily T-zone.

At 55 I don't want sparkle so when it said metallic, I wasn't so sure. I chose Velvet Plum, Burnt Sugar, and Champagne Quartz and I love them all. Very warm and natural colors, but an added light that is very flattering. I used other reviews to choose colors, then chatted with an online artist who agreed that they'd be good for my coloring. I can't think of any other company where I'd take that chance!

The colors on this product are truly beautiful and go on very smoothly. Also, I find that they are very buildable, allowing me to combine them or to even use just one for a little drama. I have the Burnt Sugar, which I love, but I'm giving it 4 starts because the glitter does end up around and under the eyes after a couple of hours. It still looks good, but it can get glitterier than I can manage. I am, however, going to give it a try with a Long Lasting Cream Shadow as a base, probably in Bone, just to see if it lasts longer. Hope it works because I’m truly in love with the color!

This is a great formula for creating a very sparkly effect! The ratio is more glitter to color, but then again, that might be the effect you are going for.Personally, I prefer to have a little bit more color, so I prefer the Long-Wear Metallic and the Shimmer Wash over these shadows. But overall, this is a great product, and as its name suggests, it will give you a very metallic look!

I have been searching for a deep green shadow with a light gold sparkle. I hoped this metallic would fill the bill - not exactly... Color is long lasting however and is pleasing.

pros:

I'm a product junkie and almost "pro" when it comes to judging quality eye shadow (I've sampled and reviewed that many). This one does not have the pigmentation necessary to be considered high pigmented. I purchased the black charcoal Metallic, and while the color itself is nice, it takes way too many layers of building and building to get the intensity needed, it's way too sheer, thus the "high pigmented" label is very misleading. Also the "metallic" is very soft and not intense enough to show much either. Therefore only 2 stars, as the main attraction advertised "metallic" and "high pigmentation" are very lacking. Not at all what I expected.

Stunning and Elegant!

pros:

A great product for day or evening! I am 55 years old and avoid glitter make up but this really works, even for day time as it is subtle yet shimmery, not over the top. It is far better than the BB long wear cream metallic shadow which is really too glittery and sparkly for my age group. I have bright blue eyes and pale skin and I found the Burnt Sugar to really bring out my eye color. Rockstar, Velvet Plum and Champagne Quartz are equally gorgeous. Highly recommend!

After reading from a beauty blog about this color, I just had to purchase it. Beautiful color, staying power, not too shimmery - just gorgeous. Will definitely buy again. Lovely with sand dune cream shadow stick too!

pros:

I have these in "champagne quartz", and "rockstar", and I love them both. I wear them each a couple times each week (not together), and like all of the other Bobbi shadows I have worn, they do not crease or wear off. Rockstar is not quite as pigmented as I would like, but it still goes on beautifully. I love champagne quartz probably more than any of my eye shadows. It is described as being pink, but I think it's more of a taupe-pink. Either way, I love it!

GREAT METALLIC SHADOW THAT'S BEAUTIFUL & WEARABLE!

I have three of these shadows Sage, Mint, & Velvet Plum. I was a little hesitant about this shadow due to the "Metallic" label on it, as I've never used metallic shadows before & didn't know what to expect. I've used all 3 shadows & there is just a beautiful shimmer to them that is soft & wearable for day & night. These shadows are wearable for anyone of any age w/th out worry of being over the top glitter!I really like these and want more colors! I plan to buy several more of these to use over my matte & long-wear cream shadows they are so pretty and user friendly & versatle! I would highly recommend these!!

Champagne Quartz - Everyday!

I could wear this color every single day! It's beautiful by itself or layered. All around versatile color - I love it!
