Shimmer Washes are like having Bobbi in your makeup case! The colors are magnificently neutral and it's nearly impossible to make a mistake. I have tried almost all makeup brands. Bobbi Brown Shimmer Wash Eye Shadow in Stone is the most flattering and wearable shadow I have ever used. The product lasts a very long time also. I recently purchased this shadow in Copper Sand. It looks fantastic with Blue eyes! I really like that the color compliments my eyes without being too dark or dramatic looking. This eye shadow looks great all day. All the colors I have tried stay on a long time and don't crease. My favorite base color is Champagne. It does wonders to brighten up the eye and it looks great with so many of the other colors. For years I have tried different eyeshadows looking for that one that wouldn't sprinkle eyeshadow powder all over my face and would go on like silk and stay on all day. The first time I used the Bobbi Brown eyeshadow I was in "Awe"......I had finally found it! It went on my eyes so silky and not one spec on my cheeks. I went out for cocktails with an old co-worker after work....10 hours after putting on my make-up and I did not re-touch prior to meeting her. The first thing she said to me was "Your eye make-up looks nice". Jackpot! Im sold! I will always spend that extra dollar now and buy Bobbi Brown! Worth every penny and then some!Thank You Bobbi Brown!

I have been using Bobby Brown products for over 15 years and I love them. But my favorite is her matt eye shadow. Her shimmer is great too, but I really like the matt. The pigment in the shodows are a true rich color and it stays on until you take it off. Not to mention the fact that it is really easy to apply. I am 79+ and would not be found dead without my shadow and liner. All of her products are really terrific, but as I said, my favorite is the shadow. One other ingenious thing she has done, is to come up with the palette. I have one that is at least 8 or 9 years old with 6 slots and two with 4 and 6 slots respectively. They are so convenient because you don't have to go scrounging through drawers to find the color you want. Not to mention how great they are to take on vacation.I don't know what I would do without Bobby's products.

Being in my 50's, I ran when I heard the word SHIMMER in any product because this is what all make up experts recommended. Then I met Bobbi Brown (products) and I was very tempted by the array of sheer and lightly pigmented colors. I tried one and discovered it enhanced my eye shade giving me a luminosity that popped my hazel green eyes like no matte eye shadow. I love layering them over her cream eye shadows for various effects. It's a sheer glow of light that focuses on your eyes, not a glittery glob as I suspect those other makeup artists were prohibiting for aging eyelids. I highly recommend for us baby- boomers, try it, you'll never go back!

From the moment I received this product I use it every time for a sexy makeup, or for a luxury makeup. The amount of shimmer is always perfect for the occasion, and I love that there is so much color choice available! Once you start using it, you won't be able to stop it. One hint though, is to not use fingers and always use your brush to apply them. Also don't put too much on the brush if you want a lighter shade, once a lot of the powder goes on, it's hard to get them all out. You can always apply more if you need more, so start with a lighter coat! Works very well with black eyeliners.

Bobbi's shimmer is not sparkly, frosty or overdone. I am steamrolling into my 40s and was very afraid of shimmer until I discovered Bobbi's shadows. They simply look like the light is playing with your shadow color. It's a gentle shimmer, not a loud icy shine. I have the new golden leaf from the Ivy League Collection and love it. The color really is exactly as its name implies, and it works beautifully with the Nude Eye Palette for Fall 2009. I put them all together in a 4-pan palette and called it a day!

I love these shadows. They go on smoothly, have great buildable color, and last all day. They provide just enough shimmer so your eyes look luminous, not sparkly, which, at least in my case, gives eyes a more youthful glow. I'm not old at 41 but I do have fine lines and this does not accentuate them at all. The color spectrum is stunning and the darker shades make for beautiful liners with the matte colors. I have Heather Mauve and Champagne and both work well with my fair skin and brown eyes. These are definitely a must-have.

If I could only have one eye shadow for all of time, it's Shimmer Wash in Bone. The texture is sublime and brightens up my eyes perfectly. Whether I'm doing a smokey eye and using it as my base and highlight, or I'm doing a bold lip and want to lightly emphasize my eyes with a little light and liner, I always end up reaching for this shadow. Bone Shimmer Wash doesn't get organized with my other eye shadows, it gets put in my "daily drawer" which houses my brow grooming items, eye primer and mascara, etc... I've also used it as a face highlighter, it's amazing.

This shadow is easy to apply. With my eye shader brush I can cover my entire eye area to give a base color and then contour my crease with a darker color. I like the shimmer. It isn't too much at all. It opens up my eye when I put a lighter color in the inner corner. Its just enough for the daytime.

Love Bobbi's eye shadows. Similar to the blushes, I think the color selection is a stand out feature along with the great texture & staying power.Regarding the Shimmer shades in particular, I find nearly all of them to be pearly/shimmery with good color saturation and without glitter which is what I like. The texture is so easy to use I can even apply/blend them with my fingers.

This product is ideal for those who want to take a step up from the usual matte shadows but don't want to go all-in for the glitter. It has just the right amount of shimmer so that you can still wear it during the daytime. This shadow is definitely buildable for a night-time look and from my experience this is truly crease-free.P.S. The lilac shade is absolutely gorgeous on dark brown eyes. Natural yet enhancing.

I purchased the Golden Leaf shade in this product, and was pretty happy with it. I had been hoping for a bit more of a sheer wash of color (as suggested by the name) but it had a little more color saturation than I expected... but I am rather fair so perhaps that is part of the equation, also.Subtle shimmer and not overly sparkly. Nice shade of olive!I am likely to purchase this product again in the future, but hope to test out the shades at a counter first.

These shadows are sheer and lovely, and the colors are beautiful. They work well with my matte shadows (cream or powder), and dress up my eyes. Some look great all by themselves and all of them are totally wearable day or evening (depending on how they're applied) because they’re washes of color.I’m going to highlight a couple which have become staples. Rock is a neutral taupe/grey that gives me all of the punch and none of the blueness that many grey eye shadows do. Rose Gold is simply…a rose gold eye shadow. So pretty! It’s solely a crease shadow (wearing it on the lids makes me look like I’ve been crying), and some women actually use this as a blush. I tried it, and it was muddy and shiny…like I’d been bronzed…lol:)Stone Shimmer Wash gets a special mention. It makes my eyes look instantly beautiful. It works all on its own, in the crease, or as a subtle liner. I just can’t mess up Stone. I love wearing eyeliner with this shadow, but I don’t have to. I can do a quick eye. A little mascara and I look polished. Lovely!And last but not least I’ve tried the new Golden Leaf and will purchase soon. I usually don’t mention a product in a review that I don’t own and haven’t worn a little while, but I was really impressed. I didn’t think it would look that good on me because I have green eyes but it’s sheer enough to not scream “GREEN”, and has enough gold to really complement my eyes. Gorgeous!I love these shimmer shadows. They are so easy in every way. A few strokes with an eye shadow brush, and my eyes are dressed for anything.

This eyeshadow is slightly less pigmented than the other two offered by bobbi, but it works wonders as a highlight and lid brightener. It compliments a lot of looks and the variety of shades offers a variety of application uses: under the brow, on the inner corner, over the lid to balance a cat eye liner look. The shimmer does not make the powder grainy: as with all bobbi brown eyeshadows, you are guaranteed, a smooth application and long day wear.

I am a huge fan of BB, but this is one of the products that I can not recommend. I purchased the Shimmer Wash Eye Shadow in Sapphire for a special occasion and have been really unhappy with it ever since. I find that the shadow goes on unevenly and looks splotchy. Also it is impossible to blend. Even the make-up artist who sold it to me couldn't blend it! I don't have this problem with other BB eye shadows, but the shimmer wash just does not work for me.

Love it, Love it and Love it. I use the Shimmer Wash in Snow especially if I want a very dark smoky eye during the day. It makes the darkness of the eye look very clean and polished while the eye doesn’t look over done or to smoky when it really is very smoky, so chic. This is a perfect application for the office environment, because the Snow tones it down and provides a professional look without looking like you’ve just stepped off the runway. This color can be used in so many different ways. It’s a must have and it snaps right into the palettes.Before leaving for a European holiday, I purchased the Iced Blue Metallic shadow and Bobbie Bright Eyes for a European friend and she LOVED both products. As I learned during my European holiday, Bobbie Brown products are all the rave and considered very chic and quality products.

I purchased the shade Copper Sand, which makes a perfect softer daytime smoky eye when brushed into the crease with Ash cream shadow on lower lid-perfect for a more muted smoky eye on a mature woman. The shimmer is subtle, light refracting and this color is oh so complementary to my honey colored eyes. It's even lovely on it's own on the lower lid for a more casual yet polished eye. This stays on through 13 hour days, but applies gently and is gorgeous.

This eyeshadow is quite amazing. It's shimmery without needing the use of glitter, which makes my eyelids look a lot more lively while also being natural. Also, it's extremely smooth and non-flaky, which is an extra plus because I was born with unfortunate Asian eyelashes, which means when eyeshadows flake on my eyelashes, it's really obvious and ugly.I have this in lilac, champagne, and the really dark brown whose name I cannot remember. I use the dark brown as either eyeliner or eyebrow color, and it always looks amazing and natural.

These eye shadows are clearly among the best in the market if you are looking for soft, glowy definition. The shimmer is super subtle but still there, the shades are all beautiful. The soft, buttery consistency makes blending a breeze. The only problem is which ones to choose since they are all so pretty! BB Shimmerwashes are essential staples in my makeup collection, would not want to be without them.

I don't care for shimmer anything to be honest. When shopping to replenish some Bobbi supplies, the makeup artist on duty at Lord & Taylor volunteered to 'finish' up my face for me (I ran to the store with just tinted moisturizer and mascara on).Champagne Shimmer Wash gave me just enough color and shimmer to brighten up my face. It lasted all day and didn't crease at all. Plus, the shimmer was subtle -- not at all inappropriate for a middle-aged woman. BTW -- I am very fair, with some freckling, grey eyes, blonde hair -- and very mature skin (read: have crepey-ness in the eye area). The formulation did nothing to exacerbate my issues -- rather, made them less noticeable.I was pleasantly surprised. Of course I was sorely disappointed when I learned they were sold out; got home and immediately ordered!

Very nice eyeshadow with minimal color impact. Provides a light and pretty touch. I have used this product a few ways : It sweetens up more intense shades (browns and blues) and tones them down. I've used it to soften up colors by layering it directly over another color; the more layers the softer the effect. And I've also used it for the opposite effect -- to amp up and brighten pastels or nudes/neutrals.It's fun mixing these shimmer shadows themselves -- I like layering all of my darker shades. The colors are so sheer that it's hard to overdo (but you *can* use too much shimmer).I own a lot of these shadows by now and I enjoy them all. This is a signature product in Bobbi's eyeshadow repertoire; each eye color product provides a distinctive effect. I'm a Bobbi Brown addict through and through now... largely because of her no-miss eye- and lip colors.

I'm 57 years old and although my skin, including eye area, is in great shape thanks in large part to Bobbi Brown skincare and make up, let's face it - 57 year old lids are not 30 year old lids.So I was afraid of two things with this shimmer wash shadow. First that it would read "who's she trying to fool using cosmetics too young for her". Second, that the shimmer product would make my ultrasensitive skin rebel.But in trying the sample of shimmer shadow that came with a complimentary palate associated with a recent order, I was pleased to see it looked great on my lids and didn't irritate my eyes one bit. Hooray! Fun too.Disappointment is the palate was not the one that was posted on the web site as to be sent. The palate that was sent included a black plum shade that is too dramatic for me to wear much. Wish it had been the lighter gray specifiedon the web site instead as I'd likely get great use out of it. Regardless, as a gift with my purchase, this gives me something for fun experimenting. That's the great thing about BB cosmetics - fun to wear and play with at all ages!

Out of all the BB shimmer/metallic/ sparkle eye shadows (both powder and cream), this one is my ultimate favorite!!!Depending on your preference, I found that some eyes shadows in this "shimmer/metallic, sparkle" category have more of the "glitter" aspect than they do color. But this awesome Shimmer Wash Eye Shadow has my personal preference of a balanced shimmer and color combination in mind! pros:

I am 50+ and was hesitant to wear a shimmer eye shadow but after all of the positive reviews decided to give it a try. I must say that Rose Gold is a fabulous neutral color and has become a favorite.

pros:

I have these in "bone" and "petal", both of which I use to highlight my brow bone and as all-over lid colors. When worn on the lid, they are like all of the other Bobbi shadows-they go on beautifully and do not crease at all. These shadows glide on, and provide just the right amount of shimmer that even an "older" woman can pull off. These beautiful shadows have never failed to last me all day; I love them!

pros:

I have this in Rose Gold and it is gorgeous. The shimmer is subtle and lightly highlights your eyes. It is buildable and goes easily from day to night. This is not glitter and it is a great polished look. Very attractive.

The shimmer wash is a wonderful product to wear alone or as a base to my standard 3 BB shadow routine or as a finish over the top...depends on my mood when I'm applying my make up. Wears well, not to glittery for mature eyes and is a fantastic neutral tone in Rose Gold; fair complexion with hazel eyes and dark blonde hair...

pros:

I love these shadows. They go on so beautifully and last all day. You can easily adjust the color payoff depending on the desired look. This really is just a light shimmer. It is very subtle not super frosty or sparkly glitter like some.. Just perfect.

Frosted eye shadow & way over priced

pros:

i ordered two shimmer wash eye shadows online.... one was crushed upon arrival, called BB and they immediately sent out another... which was great customer service.... however, i do not like the eye shadow at all, so i sent them all back. just buy a cheaper "frosted" eyeshadow if you want the same look. I was looking for a "shimmer" not a frosted eye shadow.

I purchased the Shimmer Wash in Rose Gold. Wasn't sure what to think about it at first because the color seemed too pale and shimmery. But after a few color combinations try's, it's now part of my EVERYDAY neutral palette for work. Very nice!
