I have never been a fan of mineral makeup.Leave it to Bobbi to develope a mineral makeup that gives great coverage, not too shiny nor too matte, just right! I have combo skin and with temperatures soaring in the 100's it holds up very well with no transfer. It feels like your not wearing a foundation, your skin only better! Bobbi, you knocked this one out of the park! Don't foreget to get the face brush, very soft and makes for a even finish.

I have always used bb tinted moisturizer and I had to use another mineral powder, from another brand on top. But not anymore! I really love this powder it's so nice and easy to apply and you can use it with the tinted moisturizer or by itself. However, you got to get the brush to apply it the right way, but applying is easy. I really think this is going to be something! I can now use my bb tinted moisturizer with my bb mineral powder! The powder is light but it covers really nice. Love it!

Ok, I have tried many mineral foundations in the past with no luck. I wondered if this could be used as a pretty finishing powder as opposed to a "foundation". And I was pleasantly surprised! I use it as a soft finishing powder over my Repair Foundation, and it is wonderful. It is not powdery looking or drying. It sets well and really does look like skin. It makes my skin look smooth without the usual mineral powder shine or dryness. And the brush feels soft, not scratchy, on my skin. Way to go Bobbi!

Hi, I'm a fan of Bobbi Brown products. Not sure if Bobbi's staff reads her reviews, however, I haven't tried this mineralized foundation but I'm sure it's great. The only problem I have is the lack of models of color that are not used when a new product is launched on the website. The majority of videos put up are of fair-skinned women, which is fine but it would be nice to see how some of Bobbi's products look on women of a darker complexion. I was pleased to see a considerable spectrum of women of color represented in the Pretty Powerful 20 campaign. Thanks for that, and continue creating beautiful makeup for women of all the colors of the rainbow!

I truly love this product! I normally use liquid foundation and have always wanted to use a mineral foundation. I was so excited to see that BB created one. I ordered it the day it premiered on the website. I was so happy to find that it met all of my expectations. As usual with all BB products, it is of high quality. I am amazed at how it has completely erased every imperfection on my completion. I love that it doesn't wipe off at all. It is not oily, and it doesn’t dry out my face or leave it feeling stiff. The result is just normal healthy looking skin that is completely comfortable. I am hooked!!!!I ordered Alabaster which I found to be a very good match to my skin tone (I am normally Porcelain in BB products). I apply the Oil Free tinted moisturizer in Alabaster first (my personal preference. You don’t need to apply anything before the Mineral Foundation) and then I apply the Mineral Foundation. I have found the Alabaster Mineral Foundation to run slightly darker than the usual Alabaster products so I put White Loose Powder over it and it is perfect.

I buy many of Bobbi's foundation formulas and use them at different times of the year and for different occasions. This new formula is "average", as far as I'm concerned. I used the Face Brush to apply it and found the coverage adequate, but it took longer to make it look right than I have experienced with other foundations. I also think it feels a bit more like I'm wearing makeup than the Oil Free Tinted Moisturizer does and, frankly, that gives better coverage in less time. Maybe I'll combine the two products and see how that works out and also try the powder puff application if I feel like spending more money to make this product work for me.

Yay!! Bobbi has successfully developed an amazing mineral foundation without the weird "glow" that is not drying, all with only ONE product. I love this new foundation, and it is perfect for daily use or looks nice on top of the tinted moisturizer. Really looks like skin! I am hoping in the future that she will make it in each regular, numbered foundation shade if that is possible rather than the current "light, medium..." shades to achieve a closer exact skin tone match. But for now, I love the light/medium!

I've worn this a few days and I am really happy with with Bobbi's mineral foundation. It really does look like skin, it doesn't feel dry, and doesn't have a wired sheen. I especially like that it does not have bismuth since I developed an allergy to that ingredient. Like another reviewer stated, the coverage is very light, but I've found I can wear concealer underneath and it says if I don't buff the powder too hard in that area. I can also take a small dense brush and layer over an area if necessary. I found it lasts about 8 hours, a little better if you wear the face base or spf15 protective lotion. My only complaint is the color range. I wish she had the full range like she does for other foundations. I wear Warm Ivory in the Natural Finish Foundation, and the online rep suggested I get Alabaster in the minerals. Alabaster is a bit light so I ordered the Extra Light to custom blend in a little sifter jar. I do the same 50/50 mix for the oil-free tinted moisturizer, so I am used to it. Totally worth it to get the perfect color.

The mineral makeup delivers a very natural finish - it is not masky like other mineral makeups. It also makes you look bright and it is not drying and is weightless on the ski. The ONLY downside for me is that the coverage minimal. So if you have a fantastic complexion definitely give it a try. If you have complexion issues this might not be the product for you.

Flexible Use for Mineral Foundation

I am very pleased with the Bobbi Brown Minieral Foundation. I ordered the medium shade and it is perfect for my skin. There are different ways that I use this foundation. For a light makeup application, I put a little in the lid and swirl my brush in it and apply in tiny circles. This gives me a light finish. For areas around my nose and chin, I use a puff and tap into my skin to cover pores, etc. I also enjoy using the mineral makeup as a touch-up later on in the day. It is very versatile and I highly recommend it.

I use this mineal powder over the luminous foundation and the combination provides a beautiful finish. I'm 48 with skin that seems to change on a regular basis. I use a big fluffy brush so the coverage is very light and just right for setting my makeup. Unlike other mineral powders this doesn't settle into lines so it looks good throughout the day. I can touch up without looking too powdery and at the same time since it's a foundation powder it fills in any spots that need a little freshening. All in all a really nice product.

I thought I'd try Bobbi Brown's mineral foundation since I like many of her other products and because they are always high quality. This mineral foundation is no exception! I liked it from the first time I used it. The coverage is good, and it doesn't look too powdery (the key being not to use too much). I apply it with a wet flat-top brush and use a stippling-type application (I find this to be the best method with my 54-year-old skin). I lucked out on the first try with the shade I chose--although maybe several different shades would have worked for me.

For I have found your replacement. I loved this from the moment I put it on. It gives a nice even flawless finish without much fuss or effort. It feels weightless on the skin & doesn't look like a mask. Most people don't even know I have it on. It wears very well and lasts pretty much all day. The only "downside" I could say that this has is that it does tend to be messy. But it is a mineral powder. So that's expected, but for me it is in no way a turn off. I love it and will definitely repurchase once I run out. The shades are subjective just like the tinted moisturizer so definitely get matched properly. I use Bobbi's foundation stick & Moisture Rich foundations in Cool Beige 3.25 and I use this fantastic powder in shade "Light".

Sigh. Where do I start? I generally love Bobbi Brown products. Lately, there have been some products that are new, I tried them -- and just felt they didn't live up to the Bobbi brand.This product is one of them. I found this Mineral Powder Foundation to be nowhere comparable to a product labeled 'foundation'. I saw NO coverage from this product at all. As a matter of fact, I think the regular powder does a better job. I also felt this Mineral Powder Foundation settled into pores making them more apparent. I had weird 'dots' on my face and realized that it was this product.I generally wear tinted moisturizer and either Bobbi's regular powder to set -- or if I need more coverage -- I have been using another brand's mineral powder (not a brand generally found in stores but in dermatologist's offices) and get smoother and better results.I think Bobbi has the right idea in this powder but I would love to see it improved upon in terms of texture, coverage and usability. The color selection is amazing (as always). But this product sadly was a 'miss' and am surprised by all of the high ratings as quite a few of my friends feel the same way as I do about this product.Sorry Bobbi...I feel a bit disloyal here but I need to be honest.

As a big fan of Bobbi's and mineral foundations, I so wanted to love this foundation. I know this isn't a "pure" mineral foundation, and I am not sure if it was all the "extra" moisturizing stuff in the product, but immediately after applying this foundation, my face became shiny. I was told this product would help control my shine. It didn't AT ALL!! On the pro side, my skin did look "like skin". I LOVED that. But, I actually think a drier skin girl would do better with this particular mineral foundation. Bummer for me!

I bought this product because after a very humid day my natural finish foundation had completely melted off of my face and I went to the department store to try it. I am so glad I did! I have used other mineral foundations [who shall remain nameless for purposes of this review :)] and they didn't go on evenly, were too shiny or too chalky. This product is none of those. It goes on like silk and leaves a sheer yet polished finish to the skin. I have extremely oily skin and I was surprised when the artist applied the face base as the primer before the product, but even with a more emolient moistruizer it kept the oil at bay. I will use the oil control lotion at home however.And buy the face brush to go with it! Worth the money. I had used the brush by that other brand and this is by far superior to that!

I really liked this! This mineral foundation seems to work really well on my freckled skin. It seems less "mask like" than liquid foundation somehow. Natural looking, but enough coverage. I use a small brush to spot apply it around my nose and in spots where I need added coverage. I wear "beige" in other BB liquid and the "Light" was perfect for me in this product.

Thank you, Bobbi, for giving mineral foundation a chance. I've tried it out for a few days, and I really like this formula. It's superior to the other popular brand: not mask-like; not chalky; no weird "glow"; not cakey; doesn't settle into lines; glides on easily; moisturizing. The color Extra Light is a good match for my skin tone and very compatible with the Sand foundation shade. While this evens out my complexion, I would describe the coverage as light to medium. It's totally buildable (I have acne-prone, far-from-flawless skin.) I use a small brush to conceal blemishes and areas around my nose where I need more coverage. Once applied, it really looks like skin! Also, this product isn't as messy as other mineral foundations. I've been using this for everyday wear, but it particularly comes in handy on weekends, when I don't feel like putting on liquid foundation. I still get a little shiny throughout the day, but I suspect that this will be moisturizing in the winter. I docked one star for the price. I'm loyal to BB quality, but I wish this and the face brush were a bit more affordable.

I currently live in Japan but went to the states and tried the mineral makeup. Love it! It looks very natural and provides me the coverage I need and want. Everyone complements me on my skin. I use it with the mineral brush . I liked in t the store then when I got home I thought my lady gave me the wrong color since it did not match right away but I guess it was the lighting I was using. The reason y I gave it a four is because in a picture I took i was still oily in a few spots. I have very very oily skin but it wasn't as oily as other products from BB that has me shining. This is def a keeper and I will recommend this to all my friends. I hope she does not get rid of this one. And Bobbi if you are ready there are a lot of minorities in Japan so I am shocked the highest color you go to in Japan is a 4! But I guess there is online where i have to wait possibly get the wrong color and pay for shipping

I've been VERY hesitant to try this foundation, but finally gave in and bought it. I've tried another brand in the past and when a sister (sisters are always truthful!) told me it looked like a glowy mask, I stopped using it. Since BB has a good return policy, I decided to try it-if I didn't like it, back it would go. Well, I'm not returning this! It looks so nice, no weird glow, not at all mask-like, no caking or settling in fine lines. When two of my sisters commented on how nice my complexion looks and asked what I had been using on my skin, I knew I had made the right choice. They were surprised I even had makeup on, it looks that natural, only better than my own skin. I used Face Base (which is my holy grail) underneath and after applying the mineral foundation, rub my hands together and "blot" my face with my palms. Perfect! And, my skin tends to be oily and this looked nice all day...no shine. Thanks, Bobbi, for renewing my faith in mineral foundation!

I have finally found "the one". My years of searching for a good minerals based foundation powder, one that lasts all day and well into the night without looking cakey or harsh has been answered. Hallelujah!This is by far the best powder I have used. Previously I was using Bobbi's Foundation Stick and though it is a good product it didn't work with my skin. My experience with other mineral powders in the past was hit and miss. Maybe the coverage was good but it didn't last more than a couple of hours. Maybe it didn't irritate my skin but the coverage wasn't there.I get great coverage by just brushing it on, no need to use a sponge - and I have brown patches and a little redness. I do use a little concealer first but not a lot.This little baby does it all, covers, lasts, feels great on the skin - it's goodness in a jar.

Great makeup - poor container design

I've used other mineral makeup before and this has by far the most natural look. No chalkiness here. Light feel and great range of colors. A few complaints though. For the price, you get far less makeup than many other department store brands. My biggest compliant is the design of the container. There is no way to control how much makeup comes through the sifter. Other brands have a "lock". I end up making a mess of the powder and wasting quite a bit.

I'm happy that I've finally found a mineral foundation which actually looks natural. This foundation doesn't settle into fine lines or look like a mask, no matter how much I apply. I tend to have oily skin and was concerned I would start "glowing" after awhile, but that doesn't happen. I wore this foundation from early morning until late in the evening and it looked just as nice as when I applied it. My skin looks flawless and does not look "made-up" at all. I use Face Base underneath and after applying the mineral foundation & powder blush, rub my hands together, then press against my face. Perfect! Another great product from BB!

This blows all the other mineral foundations out the door, in my opinion! The reasons are: it does NOT make you look old, settle into pores, look like a grease-pot by the end of the day! It chose light-medium and it is a beautiful color and it creates this ever so smooth healthy looking skin-like glow. I wear her bronzer in golden/light and use Desert Rose and Pale Pink blush together. So pretty. I have read other reviews that said the coverage is really light but I found that it really evened out my (problematic) skin tone, disguised all imprefections, without looking overly made-up or cake-face-like AT ALL. Great job Bobbi Brown!

I tried another 'high-end' brand that was supposedly 'the best'. It looked awful. Chalky, cakey, just bad. So I was really excited to see this one. Still though I was skeptical because of my experience with the other one and I let it sit for a month before opening it. I wish I had used it sooner. The finish looks so good, and I think it lasts longer than the 8 hours it promises. I use it with the kabuki brush which I love as well. This is a really good product which I will try to use more often than liquid foundation since it sits on the skin rather than being absorbed. Try it, get a sample, whatever. I had almost given up on mineral makeup thinking that it wasn't for me, but I just hadn't found the right product. Love it, I hope it stays around forever.

It's been a few years since I've last touched mineral makeup, but now that my problem skin has calmed down, I decided to give BB's new mineral makeup a try. I wear this with natural finish foundation, and it gives me enough coverage to hide my acne pigmentation and blemishes, while still looking like skin. This also works great with tinted moisturizer or BB's face base if you do not have too many blemishes and your skin is on the dry side. I have oily skin, but this gives me a beautiful finish and does last longer then previous mineral powders I have used in the past. It is very buildable without looking too 'chalky' or 'cakey'. If I begin to get oily again during the day, I just do a touch up with the sheer pressed powder, and my makeup will still look fresh. You could also use this mineral powder lightly to set your foundation, for a more matte finish. It is a very fine powder that goes smoothly and is easy to blend. It is also very lightweight and doesn't feel like you're wearing makeup. My mum, who is in her 50s, tried some on and she looked fantastic! So don't ever think you're 'too old' to pull this off! When my shade was Natural 4, I tried the mineral makeup in medium, but found it to be too dark and slightly orange looking, even on my medium toned skin. Light to medium was a much better match. I have recently been colour matched again, and I am now a Warm Beige 3.5, and the light to medium mineral shade is still a perfect match on me. I suggest trying it on at a department store to get the right shade, instead of just going by the chart. Maybe ask for a sample so you can go home and try it, because to me, the ultimate makeup test is seeing what it looks like when you are out in the bright sunlight a while after you have applied makeup. I have been a mineral makeup user for years now and I have tried many and just when I thought I was happy with a couple other brands, I tried this one and now I see how the others truly do settle into the lines and age me a bit. This product is truly amazing!! The color match is awesome. I used to wear Bobbi's oil-free liquid foundation and always loved the color match, but had to leave the product behind cause liquids were just congesting my face too much. This product has NOT congested my face at all and I have been using it for a couple months now. My liquid shade was Beige and the light color matches me perfectly right now. In the summer months, I can see maybe needing to switch to light/medium. I hope they never stop making this product. RUN and get this NOW!!

I picked this up yesterday along with the face brush and this morning I used it for the first time. As always BB did not disappoint and I'm excited with the outcome. Flawless looking skin without having that dusty ashy look that some mineral products tend to do on my medium to dark skin. A little goes a long way because you really don't need a lot of product. It somewhat diffuses my old acne scars and I was surprised by that along with the fact the mineral foundation feels weightless. Feels as though I have nothing on. This is a definite must have in your make-up collection.

I was wearing the loose sheer powder and by mid-afternoon my face was an oil slick. After using the mineral powder my oiliness has significantly reduced! AWESOME! I am no longer oily mid-day at the office, which is such a relief! I feel like I get a little more coverage from this powder than the sheer powder. My only complaint is the lack of product for the price, I feel like I'm going to go through a container every month!

I've never worn mineral makeup before, and decided to give it a try. I apply it very lightly with the face brush and, afterwards, use the powder puff gently. I guessed at the color I would wear, so being fair-skinned, I chose "Light to Medium". Seems to work very well because I love the way I look. I also use a small amount of blush before applying. I get the feeling that there's no wrong way to apply it as long as you're not using too much. I didn't have to refer this to friends because as soon as they saw me wearing it, they asked what I was wearing, and in a few days, they were wearing the Mineral Makeup, too. Needless to say, they were loving the way they looked. Definitely a 5-Star Product...

This mineral makeup is perfect for anybody with oily skin or just an oily t-zone like me. Since my cheeks are dry, I applied this with a powder brush just on my nose, chin, and a little bit on my forehead. I could literally feel it is the powder absorbed the oil. It doesn't just sit on my skin and give that powdery look either. It looks very natural and the color matches me perfect. I am 'Light'. I have fair skin and rosey cheeks and this looked very natural and I could not feel it on my skin. Will definitely repurchase!

No really I have. My list would be over 20 different mineral makeup companies over the years. Trying to find one that doesn't leave me greasy looking. This is it! It's soo light it's me just enhanced. My enlarged pores are covered there is no shiny breakthrough no itch. I believe my skin has improved from using this. I'm normally an NW15 20 in the summer and I use extra light right now. I adore this foundation. When it first arrived I looked at it and thought oh man big fail. Because it was soo finely milled I figured it wouldn't cover. But it really does. I use concealer on any bad spots and finish with this. Nothing but flawless skin. Amazing!

I think I have finally found the one for me! I have oily, sensitive, combination skin and it is very hard for me to find a foundation that gives me full coverage without looking like plaster on my face!I am an African American woman with yellow undertones. Many other companies do not offer foundation colors that are yellow based. Most only carry red based for all of the foundation for women of color.I have always heard people speaking highly of Bobbi Brown cosmetics but never took the time to try it. OMG I am soooo glad I took the time out to finally try.I currently wear the Mineral Makeup in dark. I am in love!! Probably like many Bobbi customers, I don't use the same foundation all year long and, when it's super humid or I'm traveling to an exotic location, this one does the trick. Since I'm over 55, I do need to make sure all of my charming little "imperfections" are covered first, so I use the stick foundation in those areas and blend this foundation on top. The thing I like most about it is that I can skip the powder!

So I have basically tried every Bobi foundation for my skin type (which is combination) whether is was the foundation stick, skin foundation, oil free compact they all were okay but I got to the point where it still felt like too much for me.I started just wearing the loose powder which felt great but didn't give me the coverage I wanted. I was sooo happy that Bobbi came out with this it matches my natural complexion perfectly gives me coverage and all I need is my face brush to apply.I had the same container for about 3 months used it everyday and its just under half empty. It literally takes me 1 minute to apply once you have a face brush your good to go!An added plus is that even my acne has slowed down since using it and I don't feel like I have a mask on it just looks like I have really really gorgeous skin :) everyone PLEASE try this!!!

Best foundation find! I have oily skin, and have given up on the search for a liquid foundation that doesn't make me break out. I used a different brand of mineral makeup for a while, but I felt like it made me look a little too orange, and a little too shiny. I was very excited to find this foundation! Not surprisingly, Bobbi got the colors just right! The foundation gives me the light coverage I prefer and makes my skin feel so soft and smooth. I love this mineral foundation and it compliments my complexion great (I'm extremely hard to match). I'm African American medium complexion and my previous foundation was either to dark or to light. This is a perfect match! In the winter I use medium. All I need is a little moisturizer and concealor under my eyes & that's all. My skin is extra dry hints the moisturizer but it does a great job. A few days ago, I posted a review on this stating that it was my #2 choice in mineral powder foundation -- I'm glad BB didn't post it(probably b/c I used a competitor name!) At any rate, I've totally changed my mind after using this powder foundation for a few days -- It is absolutely wonderful. It is so natural looking and the colors are a spot on match. I still prefer liquid or stick foundations (skin foundation and Bobbi's stick foundation are my favorites) but this product is so incredibly versatile; it is definitely one I will now keep on hand at all times. Whether alone or used as a finishing powder, this powder makeup is truly amazing -- and yes -- it is now my favorite mineral makeup!

I do hope Bobbi doesn't discontinue this foundation. It is amazing! This velvety powder covers everything without looking dry or cakey. It evens out my skin tone and blurs my imperfections. My skin looks and feels soft and smooth. I apply it with her powder brush after using her vitamin enriched face base. It lasts me all day but does have buildable coverage if I need it in the evening. I know all of us that are of a certain age (0ver 50) have been advised to either give up powder makeup entirely, or use it very sparingly. No worries with Bobbi's mineral foundation. I have gone thru TONS of foundations, cream, liquid, and powder, but this BB mineral foundation powder is by far the best!!! It actually cover up my red chin w/o any concealer used, like before. so far no breakouts, thats great cuz Im 38yrs old and the 1-2 pimples I get with my monthly cycle is enough lol . I am delighted with this product and have been using for over one year and order two at a time. My only complaint is with the way the powder is dispensed. It either is too much or too little and you cannot tell when you are running out. You cannot open the internal lid which means that there is a certain amount of the powder left in the container that goes to waste.OTHERWISE, I LOVE this powder. It is my first time to purchase this product and I love it! I'm 32 years old. I don't like heavy-look makeup and this power is just perfect for me! Some people said this powder could be dry your skin but I'm using B.B's tinted moisturizing balm and they work together perfectly. Also, I read quite a bit reviews about its container gets easily messed up and wasting powders. So, what I did is, I peeled out the half of its sticker covering the sifter instead of taking out the entire sticker. It controls the amount of makeup and keep the container from getting messed.

I got this during a makeover after telling the BB MUA that I was a busy, working mom that liked a very natural look. To be honest, it got put in the back of my makeup drawer, along with the (very awesome) Face Brush, and it was neglected for months. I feared the coverage wasn't enough for work and was skeptical that a powder foundation would work well on my dry cheeks. Well, silly me. I recently rediscovered this little gem and have fallen back in love with it. Beautiful, natural light coverage, even on my dryish, sensitive skin. I am late to the mineral foundation party, mostly because most of the others I sampled in stores were not a good color match. I decided to buy this foundation recently, and wow, I wish I would have done so sooner! I am a sand (2) foundation, and I got this formula in "extra light", and the match is beautiful. I apply it after applying the vitamin-enriched face base, and the coverage was beautiful. I love that it didn't take so long to apply as liquid foundation, yet it evened out my skin tone while looking totally natural. The powder is finely-milled and settle into my fine lines. I bought this to give it a try and I believe that it is the last foundation I will ever buy (unless Bobbi every decides to put it in a compact - THEN I would switch, haha!).Other mineral powders have left me cakey and ashy looking with only one layer. However, the first time I wore Bobbi's mineral powder, I put on one layer and was surprised when I looked in the mirror and saw that even though my flaws were difused and my skin looked silky, I looked like I had no makeup on at all! I put on a second layer, and it STILL looked like I had no makeup on. It was like a dream come true!It is quite long wearing and I rarely have to touch up, even after workouts. The coverage is fairly light, but that doesn't bother me because I just use concealer on the harder to cover areas, anyway. All in all, this is a fantastic foundation and, unless Bobbi ever makes this in a compact (yes, please!!!) I will never buy a different foundation again.
