It also gives even application and you can build coverage without looking cakey. You can really get your monies worth with this brush.You can use it to slather on Extra Face Oil or Pot Rouge and other products as well. I really like this brush to put cover up on my eyes. I use it with the concealer stick and it helps make the stick last longer. It's smooth and nice, but it feels gooey after I try and clean it. That's the only downfall! i think it's great!

It takes a lot for me to give a full 5 stars. This brush deserves it. When the BB make up artist uses it to apply your foundation, pay attention. It isn't a gimmick to get you to buy more stuff. Depending on your skin type you may have to execute some fancy moves to make your face look smooth. Stipple this brush across bad skin, or rough spots= great finish.

There are very few Bobbi Brown products that I don't like. And, I own a dozen different BB brushes. But, I've had this brush almost two years and have not found it to be any better than sponges or my fingers. As a painter, I know brushes very well and this one (while well made) has too much "spring" in the bristles to apply foundation as smoothly as I would like.

I must have tried five different foundation brushes over the years, and this is the best of them all. The bristles do not separate once it touches the foundation, which allows you to actually blend the makeup around the face, rather than just pushing streaks into nowhere. The head is very dense but silky, and both the full size and the mini versions are the same. Love it!

I admit, I was always one who used to put foundation on using either my fingers or those little triangle sponges. However, the last time I went to the Bobbi Brown counter for a quick update to my makeup collection, the artist used this brush to put on my foundation and I could not believe the difference that it made. The foundation went on so smoothly that my skin looked flawless, like a painting, and people actually commented on how good my skin looked! You actually use less of the product as well. It can be a pricey addition to your makeup brushes, but it is worth it!

A foundation brush seemed like an extravagant purchase until I used this brush. My liquid foundation (Skin, Warm Beige) applies smoothly. Coverage is sheer but buildable. The foundation brush gets into deep recesses of my inner eye, around my nostrils, and right up into the hairline so my whole face is even. I'd buy a spare but it's such high quality that I don't need it.

If I could have only one of Bobbi's brushes, it would this one. I use it to apply Bobbi's corrector, concealer, foundation, cream eye shadow, pot rouge, color cheek tint, and bronzer gel. The head lets me sweep color smoothly across an area without streaking and allows me to blend the color into my skin. The sides let me get into narrow areas such as the spaces between my eyes and nose. I have one full sized brush and three mini ones. The minis are fantastic. They do everything the large one does, but their short handles make them easier to wield. So far the minis have only been available in sets with other brushes. PLEASE, PLEASE, Bobbi, offer them as an individual item.

Sponge vs. Brush - Brush wins, hands down!

I've used disposable makeup sponges to apply my makeup since I was a teen (I'm now in my early forties), so I really hesitated making the change to a brush. It took me a few tries to get the hang of it, but I'm so glad I did! The most surprising difference is the level of coverage - the brush uses less product but distributes more of it over my skin without feeling heavy. It's a great addition to my brush collection!

This foundation brush really helps apply liquid foundation without streaking. Coverage is smooth and you actually end up using less product! It gets into the areas around the nose and mouth easily. It takes a little practice if you've never used a foundation brush before. As a final touch, I go over any "uneven" spots with a small sponge. I have 2 other brushes from other high-end companies, but Bobbi's is the BEST! Worth the money!

pros:

I bought this brush because i didnt want to use my fingers anymore when applying my cream compact foundation. it took a couple of tries but if i put very little on the brush, i was able to apply a very natural application of foundation on spots that needed it most, like around my nose. I am glad i bought it.

I never used a foundation brush before purchasing this one but now I wouldn't think of applying foundation without one. Using the proper tools and techniques makes morning application of makeup so much faster and easier. I find I'm using less liquid foundation and my makeup stays fresh all day.

I was on the fence as to the real need of a foundation brush. Of course, you can apply with your fingers and all will be well. The brush gives a very smooth, even application and for me, makes applying makeup feel a little more like a pleasurable personal ritual than something you rush through on your way out the door. The brush is high-quality with super soft bristles -- definitely will last for years.

I love this brush! I don't use much makeup, and can't be bothered to spend too much time and effort to make sure it looks perfect. I am at the point, however, where I do need to even out my skin to look my best. This brush makes putting on foundation easy and precise. I am using it with Skin Foundation, but have also used it with the Tinted Balm... it works great for both! It allows me to apply a tiny bit of foundation evenly and blend it so it looks totally natural... like I'm not wearing any, but my skin looks so nice!

This is a lovely brush. It feels seamless/edgeless against the skin and blends foundations and creams wonderfully. Leaves a flawless finish.I love using this brush! It does a great job with every type of formula too -- I even like it for my foundation stick: The bristles are flexible yet firm enough to give it a little muscle.I don't feel like I always need to use a foundation brush to apply my makeup... but I often do use this one just because it's so satisfying. :) Fun actually. However... on occasions when I DO want perfect foundation application I don't try to do it without this brush! Can't get professional-looking results without my BB brushes. This one is a must-have.

I love this foundation brush! I apply Skin foundation with it daily, and it applies my makeup evenly and streak-free. I used to think brushes didn't matter and used cheaper brands, but I'm a convert to BB brushes and I'm slowly building my collection. They really do make a difference. They are very high-quality and long-lasting if taken care of properly. I wash this brush weekly with BB's brush cleanser (another product I highly recommend!).

I received this foundation brush in a gift with purchase about a week ago. I never would have purchased a foundation brush because I never would have believed what an enormous difference it can make in foundation application and the amazing end results. I have very scarred skin - the result of acne when I was younger - so it's very hard for me to achieve a flawless looking finish. By using Bobbi Brown's Luminous Moisturizing Foundation, along with this brush, I can get close to a flawless finish. The brush applies the foundation so smoothly, and really works it into my pores, so it doesn't just sit on top of my skin and emphasize my scars (like most foundations do). Also, I have found I can use much less foundation when I apply it with this brush, so in the end I am saving money. I cannot recommend this brush highly enough - you will not believe the difference it will make!

I'm a sucker for a make-up brush. Maybe I think it will perform miracles on my aging face, I'm not sure, but I should have taken heed to this brush's reviews. It is too small to be considered a foundation brush. Although it works nicely under the eyes and around nose. The bristles are dense and do provide coverage but the bristle surface area is just too small. I still use it for eye and nose area, but I'm still in the market for a cream to powder foundation brush. :(

I bought 2 of these brushes because they take so long to dry. I rinse all brushes every time I use them in water and a mild disinfectant to get rid of the residue left behind. BB's spray cleaner works well on a few brushes, though. This brush is totally awesome. I use it primarily to blend and get a nice, natural finish with my foundation. I don't like the amount of foundation left behind inthis particular brush and soak this one for a few minutes. Because of the thickness of the brush, by the next morning, it's not completely dry enough to use again. I solved that problem. I bought another one so that I will always have a clean, dry foundation brush. Again, awesome brush.

I know that Bobbi Brown says that you can apply makeup with your fingers rather than buying the brush. Add to that, I am extremely cheap. Even so, I recommend this brush because I feel like it just does a better job of blending the foundation so that it has a more natural appearance.I like wearing makeup, and I think I look better with it than without it. But I don't know anyone who wants people to notice their foundation. I think this brush helps the foundation do its job without drawing any attention to it. Which, in my opinion, is the whole point.

I decided to become a grown-up and purchased the Foundation Brush last week. I purchased it to be used with my new BB Foundation Stick (also new). I love it. Not only do I use it with the stick, but, after watching the BB tutorial, I have been using it with my liquid foundation on my forehead. I wanted to get away from the "Beauty Blender" sponge that I had been using because I needed more coverage. I tried a cheap brush for a while and didn't like the results. I thought, "How much of a difference can there really be?" I'm not a snob, and I'll use a cheaper option when it's just as good. Not all brushes are the same! I had never bought a foundation brush before, but as I approach 50 I want to do the best I can for my skin, using good quality products so I ordered BB's foundation brush.It is so fabulous! I use BB's foundations as well, and the brush makes such a difference to the look of my foundation. So natural. I'm really glad I splashed out on this brush and have already recommended it to several of my friends.The only thing missing for me at BB is a primer for dry skin. I have had to buy a primer from a different company. It's a great primer, but I would love to be able to buy all my face stuff from BB so that I have continuity and the knowledge that I will be getting an excellent product.So, the combination of a moisturizing face cream, primer, BB foundation and BB foundation brush make my skin look great!
