The Sheer Finish Pressed Powder is one of my favorite products by Bobbi Brown. It's very light in consistency but it covers very well without making your face look cakey and dry. It's so light that I can feel my skin breathing. It stays on for a long time, even when used on oily skin. I never find myself touching up during the evening. It's hard to believe, I know! But this product is so great that I still purchase it. Believe me! I'm a starving college student, and I still buy this product because it's worth every single penny.

We are now retired with two horses and two dogs, and although I don't "have" to look "made-up" any longer, I realize I look quite dead without any make-up at all. I have used the cheap products to the most expensive and this is by far the best powder that does it all. I have been using this product in the same shade (Pale Yellow) since 1999! It is a FABULOUS product that I really can't live without. I've tried a couple other brands over the past 10 years, and I've quickly realized that I wasted my money and return to this high quality Bobbi Brown product. It works well with the Bobbi Brown foundation stick, and I use it to even out my skin tone and also to tone down the redness I have from rosacea. I never feel overly made up with this product, yet I feel naked without it. If I'm in a hurry, I just brush this powder all over without the foundation stick, and it gives me the polish I need to feel confident about my look. Available in so many wonderful skin tones -- I highly recommend getting a Bobbi Brown professional to recommend the perfect choice for you. I don't know that I would have selected "pale yellow" on my own, but it really does amazing things for my complexion.

I have used Bobbi's Sheer Finish Pressed Powder in Pale Yellow for as long as I can remember. I will not use anything else. I have slightly oily skin and this powder not only controls any shine that I may have, but it also has never caused a breakout like many other powders have done. It feels velvety, goes on very sheer and always looks translucent. I love the large mirror, the puff and the whole package. I would recommend this product to anyone. It may seem a little more expensive than some of the others out there, but it is truly worth it.

I know that it seems like a boring little item, but it's worth its weight (and that's saying something these days). It’s very silky in the loose, but I prefer it in the pressed because it's neat and portable. I use it to put over my corrector/concealer and on my upper eyelids to reduce redness. I then use it to take down any obvious shine on my face. I also use it to blend my makeup. This is probably the most important thing it does. If I get my eyebrows, eye shadow or blush a little too heavy...I just use this to take it down a notch or two. It also blends all of my makeup seamlessly so it looks professional and soft...like a blurry flattering lens.If I had four make up products that I could take on a Desert Island. This would definitely be one of them. The others being corrector/concealer, pot rouge, and mascara. Well...maybe that's five, but who's counting?This is one of those staples that you'll reach for day after day, and when you're done...You can just slip it in your purse for touch ups. It never creases or draws attention to fine lines and it is of the highest quality. It's just a light yellow halo that makes a world of difference.Thanks Bobbi!

This is literally the same formulation as the sheer finished loose powder, just in compact form. It is usefully portable, just as the description says. I alternate wearing porcelain and warm ivory foundations and the white powder was recommended for me, but I have to say that I consider the pale yellow to be a better match. The white is great to set the corrector and concealer before eye makeup, but too light for the rest of my face.

This is a must have i my makeup collection. I have it in three colors: one for when I am more tanned, one for when I am my normal color, and one in pale yellow to set my concealer. I love it because if is a high quality powder that sets my makeup flawlessly without the cakey look that some powders give you, and without the messiness of loose powders. I apply it with a powder brush or BB's face brush when I'm on the go. (I prefer the face brush over the puff). It looks very natural - people tell me that it looks like I'm not wearing any makeup!

i have been using the sheer loose powder for a few months now and i absolutely love it. however i need a compact version for touch-ups or travelling and less messy. the sheer compact is perfect! the texture is exactly the same - sheer and makes my skin feels so soft after application. i look done but natural. its so easy to apply, does not cake and flawless application is absolutely achievable. definitely will stay in my portable make-up pouch for years to come.

I have been using the tinted moisturizer for about a year. Although I love the lightweight even finish it gives it wasn’t necessarily the perfect choice for my oily/combination skin. However, I really didn’t want to move to another formula that would give heavier coverage.The solution? Sheer Finish Pressed Powder in Basic Brown! I use a brush to dust it on after I have applied my Creamy Concealer (in Almond), Tinted Moisturizer (in Dark Tint) and even my blush.At first the look is a little more matte than I would prefer, but after about 1 hour my skin oils (never to be defeated) start to break through resulting in a perfectly dewy finish! I LOVE it! I sometimes dust it on again toward the end of the day but I can generally go a whole day without any touch-ups. It’s worth every penny.

I love powders, but I can't stand how messy it gets. This is a perfect solution for that! The powder puff is great, feels fluffy, but I think I will get a powder brush for a more controlled application. This is a nice, light powder, doesn't feel cakey, like a lot of pressed powders. I tried this product along with the Skin Foundation and love them both. I have the powder in Soft Sand and it literally disappeared into my skin. My bronzer and blush went on smoothly over it. It has kept the greasies at bay better than any other powder, and the color was a perfect match. For a first time experience with BB makeup, I am really impressed. Along with the foundation, my skin looks radiant, healthy and smooth. Like I just have a naturally perfect face- I can't ask for more than that!

I really enjoy using the pressed powder over my foundation to give it a more finished look. It's also great to use my brightening concealer under my eyes and then this powder when I'm in a rush and don't have time or know my makeup will come off quickly but I still want to have some kind of makeup on. This is a nice powder if you can get the correct shade. As an African American woman, there aren't enough options in the pressed powders. Basic Brown looks muddy and Golden Orange isn't dark enough. I have to use a pressed powder from a different brand over my BB foundation to get a flawless pulled together look.

After switching back to a liquid make-up, I needed a finishing powder that wasn't chalky or drying to my face. I am in my early 4o's and live in the deep south (humidity), so sweating is a problem or should I say WAS a problem. I have used BB blush and gel eyeliner for quite some time and researched the sheer finishing powder on the web site before deciding on which one to go with and all the reviews were so helpful. I don't know how BB does it. This powder is wonderful. The only face powder I've been using for years is mineral makeup. It's been some time since I've used either a liquid foundation or a face powder of any sort that wasn't mineral. But last weekend I tried the Skin foundation and I've been really happy with it. From time to time I used my mineral finishing "veil" as face powder to set my foundation and the concealer when I'd use it.The mineral "veil" was adequate to set the foundation but I've had largely excellent results with BB products so I decided to see what good the foundation and powder might just bring out of each other.I'm so glad I did! Lord knows the last thing I needed was more powder but this sheer finish is incredible over the Skin foundation. I was impressed to see such the perfect match; my skin tone has always been HARD to shop for.I wear "warm natural" in the Skin foundation. There's a sheer powder shade of "warm natural" as well but the consultant suggested I try "soft sand". It just disappeared against my skin. With Skin foundation my face looked perfect! My pores (which I HATE) were almost gone!BB is an expensive habit to break. I find myself ready to try all the foundation formulas& the regular powder... I understand it's been discontinued in the pressed form so I'll be getting a loose pot which is nice -- I'll have an an opportunity to try BB's take on these the two forms (loose and pressed) against each other as well as compare the regular and sheer powders... I heard the regular provides more coverage. I can see myself owning and alternating between both forms (sheer and regular) as well as both formats (loose and compact). I may also do the same with foundations... just because I love experimenting. I play with all my makeup!I'm not new to BB products but I've been trying many more than usual recently and having so much fun doing it! I have very fair skin and was highly skeptical of the "white" shade of pressed powder, even though the online chat person on this site assured me it was formulated to go with my BB foundation. After applying it for the first time, I thought it gave me an unfortunate white pallor (precisely as I feared). HOWEVER, I gave it a few minutes to see if I needed to wash my face and start over, but it was perfect on second glance. It's good that this powder doesn't add more color to my face once I've got the foundation and concealer right. It's kind of magic. I use it sparingly, but that's good too.Anyway, if you are fair and hesitating to buy the white pressed powder, give it a try.I use BB natural finish foundation and concealer in porcelain (over sunscreen), rich lip color in a mix of calypso coral and pale pink as a blusher (best cream blusher ever) and on my lips, and white pressed powder. Most of the time, I don't bother with anything else.

I originally bought this because I wanted something for touchups throughout the day that was sheer and wouldn't cake up the make up I already had on. I use Bobbi's oil blotting papers first, then I use this powder. Perfect! I liked it so much I bought another one to use in the mornings with my make up at home. Its great for setting your foundation too. It gives you some coverage, but it's not cakey and doesn't give you that powdery-make-up look. Just nice and sheer. I have combo skin and keeps the shine at bay in my t-zone and doesn't dry out my cheeks. the puff that comes with it is great too. Its a hybrid between big cottony puff and a sponge, but its neither cotton nor spone (I don't really know what it is, but it works great)

I follow BB's Skin foundation with this pressed powder in the morning, and touch up my oily areas at lunch. I dust it on with a brush instead of using the provided applicator. The lady at the makeup counter was really helpful, and recommended that I use "soft sand" powder on top of my "warm ivory" foundation. It really helps warm up my look! To me, it seemed like a lot to spend on powder, but it will last me a long time and it really looks better than cheaper alternatives, so I will continue to purchase!

This powder reminds me of a better version of BE mineral veil. I love the compact and especially love that it's a pressed powder which means less fiddling around to use it. I use a brush instead of the sponge and it goes on smooth. I wear Almond or Warm Walnut depending on the foundation base, and I wear Golden Orange in this powder. I tried basic brown, which added more color, but I'm already wearing a foundation with the perfect color. I didn't want to add more color, so I use this powder to brighten, set my foundation, and for shine control. It's totally blendable easy to wear. This is a beauty staple.

I stopped wearing makeup in my 20s and started again, this year, in my 40s, mainly to conceal dark circles. I re-learned how to put on makeup from the Bobbi Brown web site and a few others. Bobbi reco's pressed powder in sheer yellow to set concealer under eyes. I found budget options for concealer, tinted moisturizer, everything. Except the pressed powder. All the sheer yellow pressed powders I tried (from $3 on up to $20+) left my under eye area crepey and powdery. Bobbi Brown's pressed powder in yellow is absolutely sheer and does set the under eye concealer. Even though it seems pricey you get a large round of powder in a beautiful compact. Well worth the cost.

This product is great! I not only use it on my face, but around my eye area to make my concealer last. You can use the powder puff for on-the-go moments, but I find that the Face Blender Brush is the best in equally distributing the powder and creating that flawless look. I love love love this product! I am buying another for my on-the-go make up bag...To stary, I want to say that I am a medium tone and the foundation I use is honey or medium to dark tinted moisturizer. At first, I was skeptical of the light (pale yellow) color thinking I needed a darker shade. I love it! it really does go with darker skin tones and controls shine without taking away that dewey glow..very impressed. I would've only given it 4 stars because I do feel like I have to reapply towards the end of my day but that's every powder I have purchased....Also loving the fact that it comes in this sophisticated compact versus the loose powder option... good job Bobbi!

I have very oily skin. I ordered this hoping it would at least do an alright job controlling oil. About an hour after applying it over my Bobbi Brown Skin foundation, my face was an oil slick. Also, I ordered the yellow, and it made me look kind of sickly. I have yellow undertones, but the color just didn't work for me. I didn't apply an excess of powder either. I assume since this product has good reviews, it works for skin that isn't as oily as mine. It didn't seem like a horrible product, it just didn't work for me, and I went back to my old brand of powder.

Flawless is right! With very fair skin, I use it in white, and it looks very natural and sets my foundation well, however: a little goes a LONG way. At least for me. And that is a good thing, the product will last longer and it doesn't take much to look great, but my one and only issue is that it cakes and blots up around anywhere that I apply my touch-up stick. I like to use my touch us stick before my powder so that I can blend the two together, I use it on blemishes and the bridge of my nose, and when I put my powder over it, it just latches right on and I end up with random powdery spots on my face. So, I just go ahead and use my touch-up stick after, problem solved. Just a little bit annoying, and it is probably my color that does this, I don't feel like the darker shades would really do it so much. Great for setting my foundation without changing the color of my face!!!!

I started using this powder as part of the now-discontinued face touchup palette. ((Please please bring that back!!!!!)I use the pale yellow powder around my eyes to set my concealer. It works nicely and really is one of the few powders I've ever used around my eye area that doesn't crease or accentuate wrinkles...So needless to say that impressed me alot!What's extra special about it though, is that towards the afternoon when I'm tired, and looking like I need a major touch up, I just use a light-reflective pen underneath the outer corners of my eyes, and I use this pale yellow powder on the inner corner and kind of dab and blend. It really freshens up the inner eye area, especially considering the dark circles can look pretty bad towards afternoon. But I love that this cancels out the 'blue' of the circles and gives me a fresher, more rested look without being heavy, cakey, or looking dry.As soon as my little pallet runs out, I'm going to be ordering this full-size powder in quantity!lol The difference it makes with dark circles or shadows from being tired, is amazing! Definitely a must-have product!!

I have this powder in pale yellow as well as soft sand. I use the pale yellow to set concealer, and the soft sand anywhere I need additional coverage, particularly when I'm using tinted moisturizer for coverage. The powder goes on beautifully sheer, has great coverage, and lasts all day for me. I do toss the compact in my purse to do touch-ups on days when the weather is liable to mess up my makeup, and it's great for touch-ups. I cannot live without this powder! I use Bobbi's powder brush for application.

This is a nice powder that "contains" the moist and doesn't get all white and powdery looking. I purchased this in the pale yellow. I have dark blond hair and blue eyes. I use loose mineral foundation in the warmer months and a cream foundation in the colder ones to prevent the dry cakey look. I used this finishing powder over each of these types of foundations and it worked very well with both. The color did not alter my foundation color it only dissapeared leaving a smooth look. I have very oily skin by the last third of the day when the warmer weather arrives. The finishing powder did a better job of keeping a matt look than another brand powder I was using. If Iwas going to go out after work I would need to reapply to look refreshed but it still looked good for going home or to the gym. In addition I liked that it doesn't leave a "powder cloud" when you use it.

I discovered this powder because it's a part of Bobbi's creamy concealer kit which I love. I ran out of the powder in my kit because I was using it all over my face so I purchased this product, the larger version and it's even better than I expected! I put it on after my tinted moisterizer before bronzer and it leaves my skin matte, smooth and shine free all day. I have combination skin that gets even more shiny as it gets warmer out and so far I haven't even had to re apply this powder throughout the day. I'm always looking for products that leave my skin looking shine free for as long as possible and this is one of the best I've found!

Great Finish

pros:

This is a great product to use after your face makeup is complete. It gives a soft, non-powerdery look that makes your makeup look soft focus. Its also great if you use a little too much bronzer or blush a little of this powder and it tones it down.
