I absolutely love Bobbi Brown eye shadow....especially the matte colors. They do stay on forever with no "creasing" or any problem. The colors are wonderful and so far I have 8 eyeshadows...mattes (mostly), shimmers and metallics. The Bobbi Brown eyeshadow brush works perfectly with these shadows and is worth the price. I always look forward to new colors, too!

I've used BB eyeshadow for about 15 years and I have never wanted to try anything else. It stays on, doesn't crease and the colors are great: safe, but with alot of options. I have ivory now and love it as a change from Bone or white. I do think the new packaging gives you less makeup than the old round ones, but it still lasts about 6--8 months using it every day.

My first purchase of Bobbi Brown Makeup was her eye shadow---pure white....it is absolutely awesome!!!! I have seen nothing like it anywhere and I am a make up addict!! It goes on so smoothly and brightens up my eyes and makes my dark brown eyes just "pop"...it lasts all day long even on my oily eye lids without any eye lid primer....can't wait to try another color!!! These pressed eyeshadows aren't my favorite (sorry Bobbi). When using an eyeshadow brush, it stirs up too much powder that then lays on top of the shadow or drops on my sinktop. I like the application and blendability, and the ability to build color. In some ways those should be more important qualities to an eyeshadow. Maybe it's just me; but I don't like to have leftover powder particles all over my sinktop.

I have several colors of this shadow and find that they all make my hazel eyes pop. They work beautifuly and naturally to make my eyes really stand out! Most of the shades are buildable for either a very natural and fresh faced look, or a very put together, night time look. I got Bone and Mahogany. They are silky smooth and not too creamy to the point where you dip your brush or finger and make a dent.Bone is a sheer wash of color.Mahogany is very pigmented and versatile, use as liner, in the crease for intense dark brown smokey eye, and perfect for brunttes to fill-in brows.They blend beautifully and easily, not chalky at all.Love the packaging that you can pop the shadow into a palette or keep it as it is.These two colors are staples in my palette.

I find that this shadow lasts and lasts--even without wearing an eye primer. I can layer to get the intensity I want and am able to easily blend the colors. As I've gotten older, I am drawn toward a more neutral eye. And if I want a pop of color, I do that along the upper lash line. This combines the best of both youthful and more mature looks. Kinda like having cake and eating it, too.

I've been having a hard time finding nicely-textured matte eyeshadows in the drug store; everything is pearly or shimmery, and with the summertime look of shimmery bronze, I think it's overkill to have your eyes be glittery or shiny as well.These matte eye shadows pick up on the brush very nicely; they are finely milled, so no clumping or messy spilling, and they brush on and blend very well. They also have plenty of staying power.I like the mink color for shading my crease.

This eyeshadow is easy to apply. It goes on your lids like silk and stays. I have to be at work very early in the morning and usually my make-up wilts by lunchtime. This shadow is one of the first I have tried that is still on at the end of the day. If I want to go out later at night, just a little touch up and it never looked caked on, just like it has been freshly applied. Back in 1999 my cousin worked for Bobbi Brown at Nordstrom. I would always come in asking for tips, and buy what looked best on me. The thing about Bobbi's makeup is that every color is made for everyone (minus foundations, you need to match yourself :) ) At that time, I feel in love with the color Heather! It was just such a great color, using bobbi brushes (my fav) you can apply a little bit for the day, or at night just keep putting it on for a dark dramatic look! it looks better than doing black all the time (which is what I would do) I really recommend this product to anyone, this is a great color and works with everyone!

Well what can I say about these absolutely wonderful shadows that hasn't already been said?------------Well for starters I could totally see Ms. Hedy Lamarr, Betty Grable and Mae West all using Bobbi's line, especially her eye shadows! They were all sirens of the day and could rock any of bobbi's shadows...They are so versatile in color and tone and formula. My staples are bone, ivory & white for highlighting. I have to many to name all my favorites!-----------------------------------The formula's are fantastic! They don't crease, the color pay off is VERY build-able And the finishes can range from classic to dramatic, from soft to bold. The first time I used bobbi on a client, I didnt realize how build-able they were until I got about half way done with one eye and said "wow, it looks like you haven't slept in ages!!, lets try that again" LOL I also LOVE the new flip top cases!! Bobbi Brown eyeshadows are the only ones that never crease. Even after an 8 or 10 hour day, the shadow doesn't all end up in the crease of my eyelids no matter how hot it is outside! I've tried all types of expensive eyeshadows and within an hour or two, the color all ends up in the crease. I don't even have to wear any special base. I also love the wearable colors - so many of the great colors always seem to be for blondes with blue eyes, but Bobbi makes colors that really work on everyone.

I use Bobbi's chocolate eye shadow to line my upper eyelashes, every day. I've tried other brand's eye shadows and they always leave a dusting of eye shadow on my cheeks - not a good look! Bobbi's eye shadow lays down intense color but it's not too heavy or dramatic, unless you want it to be. "This is the best powder eye shadow I've ever used, and I've tried many.For reference...I use the Warm Ivory foundation, Ivory concealor and Porcelain or Light Bisque corrector. I have deep "natural looking" blonde hair.I found out which colors worked by trial and error (and with a lot of help from BB mua's), so I hope that this review helps some of you.The quality of BB's eyeshadow is amazing. I own Birch, Bone, Espresso, Grey, Hot Stone, Ivory, Khaki, Malted, Mink, Mahogany, Naked, Slate, and White.I use at least one of these shadows every time I do my makeup, and that's because these shadows are extremely versatile...and that shadow is the Grey. I was advised to use it for my brows. It makes a world of difference. I had been using a very famous brow powder for many years and this is so much better. That's because it isn't actually grey. It's a soft dove color. My brows no longer have an orange cast to them. It's surprising how different my face looks with the correct brow color.Bobbi Brown eye shadows are very dense and tightly pressed. The darker shades make excellent eye liners--wet or dry, and one of my Porcelain friends actually uses a light pink shade on her cheeks. If you don't have too much discoloration (I do)...They can be used as an eye shadow primer. The White, the Bone, the Ivory are all excellent choices.BB knows her colors. The shadows I use on my lids bring out the color in my eyes, or just act as a natural shadow in the crease. I know Bobbi is known for her lipsticks, but I have to say that the Holy Grail of her line are the matte eyeshadows. This is my everyday, go-to, cannot be without item. Wear one or wear ten, they are fantastically buildable, blendable and wearable. They feel fabulous, last all day and the color range takes you from a sheer light day look to a smokey dark evening look. And it can be done with just three shadows: a pale base, a medium lid/crease shade and a deep liner shade that can be smoked out for night.

I loved BB eyeshadow in the past but did not like the round packages with screw top lids. Love the new palettes! I used another brand years ago that had a custom palette for eyes but shadows did not last. Now I once again have a custom palette filled with colors I love and they don't fade. Thank you!The colors for my tanned fair skin: Soft Peach over all, crease in Cocoa, top with Light coat of Copper Penny, highlight brow in Gold and a dab of Golden Leaf in outside corners.I also love Chocolate for my brows, it really does last all day!

This matte shadow goes on very smooth. I have some colors that are fairly lighter than my complection but when used with the eye shader brush, it looks natural and is well blended. It's not what I expect or have had experience with other matte shadows. It is a nice surprise.

These eyeshadows are so fine-milled and pigmented, it really takes one quick sweep to deposit the perfect amount of color. The texture is so smooth! I've used so many different colors, and all of them have worked. The eye palettes always combine colors that go beautifully together (for any skin tone). I have very oily skin, but this shadow actually lasts all day for me. I have blue eyes, and both the tan shades and the gray shades really bring out my eye color. The shimmer shades are fantastic -- they are NOT glittery, but have the softest and subtlest shimmer -- really gorgeous, and add some dimension to your eyelids. LOVE these eye shadows.

I picked up the color Flint which looks grey but is more of a black/brownish hue. It not only works nicely for a wash over the eyelids but I use this mainly for my eyebrows. It doesn't crease like other brand shadows, and I have oily lids...I didn't have to put on a primer so this I definitely say check it out.

Of the three eyeshadows offered by bobbi, I find the matte colors to be the most versatile: brow definer, eye definer, base, contour, highlight. They are extremely blendable and work well with the matte and shimmer colors. They can create a variety of looks (ranging from modern to classical) and are wonderful basics for anyone's makeup kit. I found that Bobbi Brown's eye shadows are amazing pigmented with beautiful colors. I have used Bobbie Brown eye shadows for a least 15 years and I love the consistency and color pigment. They go on evenly and stay on until I remove them. Also, there is quite a good selection of colors. I have tried others over a long period of time, but I always go back to Bobbie. At 78 years of age, I can promise you that there aren't a lot of shadows that stay where you put them , but Bobbies do. People say I look at least 10 years younger when I get "my face" on and that I attribute to Bobbie.I also use Bobbie's" Extra" tinted moisturizer which I cannot be without.Thank you Bobbie Brown.

I have five of these eyeshadows and love them all - the ivory I use all over the lid and then add my color over the eyelid. The colors are never garish, always pretty and subtle. You can add more to make the color more intense, but I prefer the sheer look and with these you can achieve both looks. They wear well all day and are worth every penny.

I have the Ivory and the Naked shades and have continously used them for about 2 years now. I find that these shadows are light but pack color very well. It's perfect because you can amplify the color to how dark you want it. Matte is usually kind of thick but this is sheer almost like whimsical. This was reccomended by one of the BB makeup artists online for use as an eyliner on my bottom lashline (along with Cobalt gel eyeliner on top). Love it together! It's a great accent for blue eyes! It's very pigmented...a little really goes a long way. It's also a great combination with the blue eyeliner... It helps the focus stay on your eye color and not "Blue" eyeliner.

My coloring is fair/light (warm ivory in Skin and extra light tint in TM). I hate anything too bold or overpowering on my skin/face. These colors are very subtle and natural looking.

I had never tried Bobbi Brown eye shadows but was tired of buying less expensive shadows that either made my eyelids look like crepe or would disappear after an hour or two. I purchased the powder Eye Shadow in "Flesh" and use it everyday as a base, brushing it on from lashes to brow. It's always smooth, never makes my eyelids look crepe-like, covers discolorations, and lasts all day. I'm 60 now and it's really hard to find eye makeup that doesn't make my eyes look older than they already do. Thank you Bobbi. I'll be buying more shades in the future.

I have the shades Toast (my favorite), taupe and mahogany! Toast brightens my whole face, and I just love it, it's my go to everyday simple eye makeup! The only thing is that Mahogany is a little on the dark ashy side...but I didn't see chocolate or rich brown and I really wanted a brown brown and to me at that time mahogany was it! I must admit I got it too because I am a little OCD and I hate having an empty space in my palette! However, these are very soft, blendable, longwearing and beautiful!

I like the Caviar but the Ivory and Woodrose don't show up at all even after applying multiple layers. I like the shadows overall but obviously I need darker shades. I've never worn eye makeup before, with the exception of a little mascara, and decided to try this eyeshadow as recommended by one of Bobbi's makeup artists. I was looking for a subtle look for everyday where, nothing too dramatic, and I got what I asked for no doubt. But, I think it's just a little too subtle. This powder eyeshadow doesn't give the color that I was expecting. The banana is a good choice for me, it definitely brightens my eyes and is used as a base as instructed by the makeup artist. I also used toast on my lower lid, but you can hardly see it on my light brown skin. I was expecting it to be a little more peachy. I think I'll move try the cream shadows next.

It's been a while since I've purchaed a Bobbi Brown shadow. Having recently done that, the first thing about which I'd like to say "hooray" is the fingertip fliptop design of the container. Much moe convenient than the older design of screw off lid on the shadow containers!As for the product itself, it slides right on with my Bobbi Brow shadow brushes, blends easily, doesn't cake or crease, and stays on all day. (The shadow brushes, which I've had for more than fifteen years are tools I highly recommend. A great investment but that's another review.) This powdered shadow is minimum fuss, foolproof and natural looking...just like I want makeup to be. Not to mention that the shadow looks good on and is gentle to the sensitive skin on my 50" mumble-mumble-something" year old eyelids.With so many colors in the mix, there are shadows for everyone no matter what it is you are trying to achive with your makeup routine. A winner product.

I've used Bobbi Brown eyeshadows for years, and I've never had a complaint. The broad range of colors make it easy to find shades that look great on me - I have very pink undertones, so it's hard to find colors that don't look orange on my skin. (Caviar and Navajo are my new favorites.) The formula blends well and stays on all day, and the flip top packaging is a definite improvement over the screw on/off lids. I love it!

I bought one of Bobbi's kits on another site that isn't available here. I use a ton of her products, but had not yet tried her powder eyeshadows. The kit has 5 different powder eyeshadows in it- so I tried them & fell in love!!! I usually have to wear a primer with powders, but her's stayed on all day without one- the colors are beautiful, silky, and amazingly blendable- I have never experienced anything quite like them- & I am a make up artist!!! I used the brush it came with and tapped the colors onto my lid, layering them- as Bobbi suggested and I could not be more happy with the results that I got. I didn't even need a mirror! I am so happy that I finally tried them & I will use them forever now- I was already in love with her cream eyeshadows, but these tied it for best eyeshadows EVER!!! Bobbi, you rock!!!

I use the blonde to fill in my eyebrows and it works perfectly! I've never done my brows before as part of my makeup routine, and now I can't believe I used to go without.I use Bobbi's brow brush and with some practice I've managed to do a really nice job with my brows. They are the finishing touch to making my makeup look perfect.I have dark blonde/light brown hair with dark blonde eyebrows that are groomed but not sparse or thick. This shade matches very well and just sort of blends in with the rest of my eyebrows and gives them more definition and shape.I'd definitely try it out if you've never done your brows before. I haven't used a pencil, so I can't compare, but this looks very natural and not heavy or artificial.

I enjoy the eye shadow. It stayes on all day until I take it off. Only thing is the color on the color chart on the computer is not the color of shadow. It comes accross totally different. But all in all I am pleased with the product. It is smooth going on. It is also very flattering for woman in their 60's. I also use the eye liner gel. Can!t say enough about it. Love the Black Velvet collection. Black Chocolate kohl liner and eye shadow are perfect for brown eyes. After applying the kohl liner, I smudge and apply the shadow with my finger, very close to the lash line to get a smoky look that's edgy, yet appropriate for daytime at the office as well as cocktails after work. Beautiful with the Black Maple lipstick.

I got Ivory, baby pink(discontinued? I don't know), and Mahogany in a palette on the plane and they are awesome.Again they don't look like the pictures on this website in reality AT ALL, so if you're new to a color make sure you go to a department store to try it or go for other swatches on the Internet.One of the excellent things about bobbi brown's eyeshadows is that if you go lightly with a brush, the color is sheer and very very natural, but if you keep building up or apply with your fingertips you can make the look at dramatic as you want.I use Ivory as highlights on brow bone, center of the lids or the inner corners. A bit of baby pink on top of Ivory and Mahogany to contour. Now I use this palette almost everyday.

I have been devoted BB make-up user for at least 5 years, ... I still have some original eye shadow squares BUT the 4 part containers are so cheap that my 2nd one has broken at the hinge like the first with minimum stress... they rest on make-up shelf! Great idea but flimsy container negates the convenience & pleasure of terrific products - Really they should stand up for excellence and replace 2nd with complementary 4-pak square! and rethink the container's longevity.

I just returned from my local Nordstrom where I got a seasonal color 'update' from the regional Bobbi Brown makeup artist. She chose Grey and White with the Jet liner and created that timeless classic face that Bobbi Brown is famous for. These shadows are wearable, buildable color that apply easily and last all day. Thank you for a matte shadow that still looks and feels amazing. Must be the reason I am still a fan after 15 years!

The color, Hot Stone, is a lovely color. My issue with it was that once it hit my eyelid, it was there to stay and the more I tried to even it out, the darker and less attractive it became. I needed to fill the shadow brush w/powder before dipping it into the shadow. I do this with stage make up, so that wasn't a big deal, but for every day, I prefer less hassle in making the eyelids the same depth of color. I have a lot of eyelid, so it shows. Thank you for the opportunity to comment.

pros:

I use this shadow to shape and define my eyebrows. I was one of those women who foolishly over-plucked in the early 70's and not all of those little hairs grew back. Darn! Oh well, must improvise. Pencils to me never looked natural but this eyeshadow looks extremely natural. It's easy to apply with Bobbi's eyebrow brush and fills in sparse areas evenly without looking artificial. I have decided to let my hair naturally go from go brown to gray and the eyeshadow color "grey" is looking good at every stage of this transition. I love this product!! (my daughter would never let me leave the house without it).

I hold an MFA and have well over 30 years in the visual arts and I teach. My mother was one of the first pro female makeup artists in Hollywood. Color is my specialty. BBrown's new shade of "Black Chocolate" is a knockout of a color. This is what Bobbi Brown really excels in - color.By the way, advice: look at this in FULL SUN LIGHT or an equivalent artificial light. If your eye is good enough re color, you can quite see the subtle burgundy tint.For you art students, this is a great example of changing just the temperature vs. the saturation of a color. Gorgeous. It is very very hard to find colors this subtle that are commercially manufactured.Thanks Bobby. Another home run re your color stuff. Rocks!This is an excellent shade for brunettes with hazel (that's green/brown) eyes. Likely the other new shade is superb for blonde/blue-eyed.

Flattering Eye Color

The matte, neutral eye shadow colors are the best I've ever found. They brush on easily and last all day without creasing. I really like using these shadows as a liner on days when I want a softer, more casual look than I can get with the gel liners. Wet or dry, this eyeshadow (any of them! Not just the triple-pigmented colors specifically intended as liner shades) makes a lovely blurred line. I absolutely prefer this to a pencil! I use any liner brush; different lining effects with different brushes. So many options when you mix colors to line with too.As a conventional shadow these are all lovely colors. I'm working my way through the neutral shades (taupe, sable, etc.) as 1-color full lid options; so far they are all wearable alone for simple days, and lightly layering will even 'polish' this simple look a bit more.Amazingly versatile stuff. Just adore this shadow!

Bobbi Brown's eye shadows are excellent. The powders are very finely milled, creamy, blendable, buildable and have good staying power. They come in a variety of beautiful shades from light to medium to deep tones. Packaging is truly genius as it can easily be inserted into the custom palettes or used on its own. My personal favorites are the different taupes which are uniquely beautiful and effortlessly transition from polished daytime to dramatic nighttime looks.

this shadow got such rave reviews that i couldn't pass it up! i LOVE LOVE LOVE bobbi brown's gel eye liners and thought i couldn't go wrong. well, i did go wrong. this did not work for me. it went on sooo uneven and spotty looking,,, too dark here, lighter there, not good. i cannot wear it at all. after reading reviews i see where ppl are using these shadows as brow liners. maybe i'll try that. but otherwise, very very disappointed.

I HAD to write a review on this product. I bought an eye shadow in the color "expresso" about three years ago. I use it to fill my eye brows and as a shadow. I use the product EVERY day....I have not even reached the metal.I have to say that Bobbi's product are expensive however, you WILL get your money's worth out of it. Most of her products are made so that you do not need to use a lot for the effect you want.Aside from that it lasts ALL day and stays in place.

I love these shadows. I like the matte color that is skin toned all over the lid will an eye shader brush. And then adding other colors is easy and smooth. I like the way it feels. To make the shadow last longer I put foundation or concealor on my lids first, then powder, then the shadow. If not my lids usually crease and fade. I love how natural the colors are and very flattering.

I got this eye shadow in Steel to go with my metallic longwear cream eyeshadow in antique gold to give it some more oomph for a night time look and learned different ways that I could use it. For instance you can get it wet and make it an eyeliner (which this grey works really well for a subtle, day liner). It goes on really smoothly. I like to use the powder shadow over the long wear cream shadow. Bobbi's powder shadow is easier to blend and I do not require to touch it up later in the day. It is great to be creative and blend different color combinations of cream and powder shadow. I recently got 2 matte e/s "Cocoa", a plummy brown &"Smoke" a dark grey color.I wanted to get "Navajo" to go with these two colors but it is no longer on the Bobbi Brown site. I got the idea of these three colors from a youtube video and the girl demonstrating made these colors look so easy and beautiful together. I just had to try it. The Cocoa is a very nice lid color with the Smoke as a liner. Great Bobbi Brown quality eye shadows as always. Would highly recommend. I may just get the Rich Brown instead of the Navajo as I also purchased an empty three pan eye shadow palette. I have brown eyes and the Cocoa looks wonderful.

When I talked to an artist online she told me to buy this to use with the long wear gel eyeliner. I bought the ivory, since I wanted a natural look. The shadow works great to keep my eyeliner on all day, but I only notice the shadow for maybe at most an hour or two and then I can't even tell that I put shadow on. So overall it's a good base before eyeliner but its not very long lasting.

I bought Cocoa as my second BB single eyeshadow (the rest are in BB palettes and cream shadows - my favorite). It is a gorgeous warm brown which I find great for my eyebrows (used with a light hand) as well as a basic eyeshadow, both for the crease and for all over lid color. I like browns but I never thought about buying this one on its own until the Bobbi Brown make up artist tried it on me, and I am so glad I did. I have quite oily eyelids which is why I normally use Bobbi's cream shadows, but this one did not crease at all in the whole day, without any primer at all.

I bought the Bone, which I use as a brow bone highlighter and on the inside shadow of my eyes--it's the perfect matte ivory for that. Her eye shadows last forever. I also bought the Toast which I use as a neutral lid color. I'm 60 and my eyelids have became thin and veiny and I like to cover that up. Sometimes, I just use the Toast, and sometimes I use another color over the Toast . I'm very fair and the Toast is still great for me--looks like I would think of if I was thinking of toast.

I saw the eyeshadow tutorial on youtube and gave the shadow colors a try, except I went with Smoke instead of Espresso (talked to an online artist who was very helpful). The other colors I got are Ivory and Cement. My fiance loves the way it looks! It was easy to apply with my Bobbi Brown brushes, and the makeup does not irritate my eyes like most other eye makeups I've tried. I'm sticking with these! :)

The texture is creamy, stays on all day w/thout fading, covers veins, discoloration, & will work w/th the other shadow formulas!I use w/th metallic, shimmer-wash ,sparkle, &longwear shadows. They blend well (w/th each other & the other formulas stated above), retain their vibrancy, can be easily layered, & look natural. Great selection of colors (would like to see more liner colors).Can use as the base shade to add any other type of eye shadow, holds other shadows in place, & looks great w/th the gel liners (solid colors & shimmers, they fit well in the new pallet system.I'm most definitely going to buy more colors (there's about 10 I'm looking to get, lid shades & liners). Buy these! There's no limit to what looks you can achieve w/th these. A MUST IN EVERY WOMAN'S MAKE UP BAG!

Shell eye shadow

pros:

This is my favorite eye base shade applied lashes to brow. It looks creamy, smooth and even all day. Sometimes I wear it alone , sometimes I layer darker colors on the lower lid. This was actually not one of the shades recommended by the SA based on my med. skin color with warm undertones. I'm so glad I discovered it by trial and error playing at the makeup counter!

pros:

I got this in Wheat for my blonde/light brown eyebrows and it does wonders! I have always had an issue with finding the right color. They always came out too dark or with too much of a reddish tint. This eye shadow does the job beautifully. Highly recommend.

I've been using this shadow for my brow for 6 years. I finally used it all up and bought another one. I'm Asian and this gives enhance my brow and gives me the most natural looking brow of all of the other pencil products out there. I love it.
