Better than all the rest!I've been using this since it was reformulated and I must say that I absolutely love it! It's not as dense to the touch, as the old formula but I feel it works out much better since it is more creamy in consistency. It gives such great hydration and plumps the skin without feeling greasy at all. (The previous version no matter how much or little you used it always seemed to feel greasy) All it takes is the smallest amount and press it into your skin NOT rub, and your skin looks and feels amazing.And if you have super dry or dry skin your makeup will look twice as good. And you wanna know the best part? I have Combo skin! (normal to oily) and I use this every night. I've tried this underneath the stick foundation and for me it works great. But over all I would only recommend this under makeup if you have dry or very dry skin. Mainly because if you do use it and you have combo or oily skin it will make things much more shiny than you will want them to be. Other than that this is a FANTASTIC face cream/balm even tho it is expensive at $90 a jar. And I'm thrilled at the package change! No more heavy glass. Thanks Bobbi for such a remarkable product!

This balm is a godsend for dry skin in need of moisture. It absorbs nicely into my skin and leaves it pampered. I use this at night and its SPF25 counterpart for day to have sun protection. I like the herbal scent and overall it feels luxurious and is a pleasure to use. A real splurge but worth it for me.

Some background, I have dry to normal skin and in my mid 50s.I need something for the winter months so I decided to try Bobbi's new and improved Extra Repair Balm since I really wasn't a fan of the old formula. Wow, am I glad I did. The consistency is still thick, but it is creamier and it easier to apply. You still have to warm it with your fingers and pat it into your skin but you don't feel like an oil slick. I can use this before bedtime and under Bobbi's Skin foundation with no problem.It still has the same fragrance, which I like, but it fades quickly if you aren't a fan.Bottom line, if you didn't like the old formula, try this one. Bobbi improved this big time.

I was disappointed when I learned Bobbi Brown had plans to revamp Extra Moisturizing Balm. The old formula was the best product I had ever used for my very dry, ultra sensitive and mature (58 year old) skin. That it came in a non SPF format was also a great thing as my skin does not tolerate SPF.So I was delighted to find this new formula of Extra REPAIR Moisturzing Balm is also SPF free, leaves my skin just as "ahhh-somely" hydrated and, as an added bonus, is easier to apply than the old formula.If you were a fan of the old formula, you'll be a fan of this one.If you're looking for an ultra hydrating, no artificial fragrance, no SPF, top quality moisturizer for dry, sensitive or aging sking, try this one!I receive a lot of compliments on my skin and it is Bobbi Brown Extra products like this that get the credit. A little goes a long way and you can't beat the return of beautiful skin for the investment in this moisturizer.

I guess i'm one of the few who loved the older version of the extra moisturizer. My first disappointment came with the new scent. It's a bit different and not as strong as the older version. I also don't like the new thicker/denser consistency. I think the creme is hard to apply. I have to pat the product on vs. smooth it onto my skin. i feel like I'm having to manhandle my face and neck to spread it around. More than likely i will be returning this product.

I've tried all sorts of products to manage my oily skin. Then I realized it's about balance for my skin. So, I use a salicylic acid wash, a serum, and BB extra repair moisturizing balm. My skin has never looked or felt this good. I also love, love, love the smell. This is a wonderful product.

I love Bobbi's skin care and wanted to love this. But it is so difficult to use. It is just so sticky and unspreadable on the skin. I have tried to mix it with light moisturizers just to be able to apply it. The version with SPF is so wonderful, wish this Night version was as easy to use. But it is not. Not something I will buy again.

What I love about this product is its staying power. I have dry skin and with most moisturizers my skin feels dry again shortly after application. Very little product is required for coverage and patting on first, then spreading gently alleviates the issue some reviewers have had with spreadability. I like the scent and as another reviewer mentioned, the scent does not linger. People have noticed that my skin looks better since I started using this product!I thought I might have problems withbreakouts because the cream is thick but that has not occurred at all.

I was desperate for a product that would alleviate my dryness and help keep make up on for more than an hour. It not only made me look fresh and natural but reduced the dryness. I had milia(tiny white bumps)on my forehead and had to have a facial to get them extracted. This balm completely cleared them up and now they are gone!

For those having a hard time applying the balm I found a solution that works especially well for me as I have very dry, aging skin. I use Bobbi's facial oil after washing and then apply the balm. It goes on smoothly and you only need alittle. I was afraid the oil would be greasy but it isn't and the scent is very pleasant. Try it ---- it should solve your problem.

I absolutely love this balm. I'm not sure of all the ingrediants BUT I use this for any type of skin problem. I'm a Registered Nurse and happened to have had a small cut on my finger. This was the same finger I used to put on my Extra balm and noticed that the cut was healed in just a few days after using my Extra balm. I have also used it on my son Adam sunburn across his nose/face after swimming,cleared up 2-3 days!! This stuff is great I use it all the time and it only takes a small amount!!!! AWESOME & worth every penny!!!

I have tried lots of face creams and everytime I try them they just aren't ever as moisturizing at BB's Creams + they break me out. What I truly love about this is there are no parabens! I have combo skin however more on the dry side. I use this as a night cream primarily but sometimes I apply it later in the day as a face cream. Also it has a primer built in which is nice. I haven't tried the one with SPF 25 yet until I run out I will be using this one. I have sensitive skin as well and I never break out using her skin care line!!! I love that her products are very easy on your skin they sink in well mell good and make your face feel awake. When I wake up in the AM my face feels like butter. Super amazing--a must have. Kind of expensive but you only have to use a little. I also have her hydrating face cream (which I use for day mainly) and I think I may start buying the extra repair balm but with SPF 25 instead of the hydrating cream. More bang for your buck and it is a little bit lighter weight than the one without SPF. Even young girls I believe need to moisturize as if your older. I think a lot of people confuse if your skin is oily then you dont need something with oil or to moisturize alot--untrue!

I just reordered this product, but only because another reviewer pointed out the tip of using Bobbi's Face Oil with it in order to get it to spread easily across the face. Even warming it and patting it in doesn't work unless there is some Face Oil involved and then it works great!So, since I so desperately need a good moisturizer for night use, I bought another jar. But I do hope the Bobbi product folks will take note of how many people find this product less than wonderful and reformulate it soon. It is rare for me not to LOVE a Bobbi product!

I'm glad I gave it a try, because it has turned out to be a dream come true! My skin looks and feels better than it has in years, and I have tried many more moisturizers than I care to think about. Luscious and creamy. Best applied by warming on finger tips and patting onto skin. It is so easy to apply makeup over this product because it leaves the skin soft with just a bit of sheen which then melds into your foundation or tinted moisturizer.This was my first Bobbie Brown product. Very, very pleased with the quality. With this great underlying skin prep base, any addition makeup is a breeze to apply. Love it!!

I am one of those fifty-somethings who has never quite adapted to not being a thirty-something. My skin was very very oily when I was young, but has become drier and drier over the years, and I mostly used moisturizers made for normal skin, which were simply no longer doing the trick. I bought my first Extra Repair Moisturizing Balm a couple of weeks ago and it has made all the difference. Skin that felt scratchy and downright painful is completely soothed. On top of that, I no longer need to use a primer under my BB Extra foundation, because this does the trick beautifully. Highly recommended for very dry skin.

This is the only thing that works on the very dry sensitive skin on the back of my neck. It hurt all the time till I found this cream. The cream the dr prescribed did not help. This is a miracle cream for me. The only thing I dont like about this cream is that it contains petrolatum which can clog pores. Also I wish that Bobbi would list the ingredients in the products on the website. I love all the extra products. I use this cream year round on my neck.

I have very very very dry skin. This balm soothes my skin, leaving it feeling hydrated and supple all day. No more flakiness. I also use the tinted balm as my foundation, and I look dewy and fresh. I think I may actually become one of the those girls who wears makeup everyday...instead of 3 times a month! It's life changing for me. I LOVE the smell, my husband doesn't. That's fine with me, it doesn't last (the smell). And I find that I'm breaking out less now that my skin is getting adequate moisture.*Note - this will not smooth over your skin like a liquid moisturizer. It's thick (it's a BALM!) - the girl at the counter said to pat/press it into your skin. Also, if your skin is still slightly wet when trying to use it, it won't work, at least that's what I've found.

I've been using the balm for almost a week. It has a very sticky texture that does take a little effort, and I mean little, to rub in. I have put it directly on my face and have also tried warming it between my fingers before application. My face is definitely more moisturized and this morning I thought I was was starting to see a difference in the texture. I will keep using but have also ordered the balm with spf to see how the consistency is and to also have extra protection when we travel to warm sunny areas this holiday season.

I got it as a free sample after I bought a bunch of Bobbi brown makeup... And was told to use it as a night cream. First I apply about a teaspoon of coconut oil to my face and then use just about 1/2 a tsp of this... It really feels like I am doing good for my face.

I originally fell in love with a sample I received. The sample seemed to go on much smoother than the actual product. While it does seem to go on a little "rough" and is somewhat difficult to smooth onto your skin, it leaves my extra dry skin supple and moist. I use a very tiny bit in the day and apply it liberally at night. I wake up with soft, smooth skin each morning. I waited to pull the plug for quite a while because of the price, but it is, by far, the best moisturizer I have found for very dry skin.

This may be my very favorite BB skincare product ever!!! (okay, a toss up with the Vitamin Face Base). It is luscious, creamy and so soothing for dry skin. It is a perfect winter time product for day and/or night. I am not sure why some other reviews said it was difficult to apply. I find it quite easy by patting it in. It keeps the skin hydrated all day. I have found no touch ups necessary. It is so good that my husband has started asking to use it and even he feels a difference on his skin!!! It also works beautifully in conjunction with the Extra Repair Serum (applied first) and the Extra Eye Cream. It creates perfectly hydrated, healthy, glowing skin!!!

I've struggled for years with extremely dry skin, trying to find a moisturizer that didn't leave my face feeling tight and pulled after a few hours. This cream is the first one I've found that does just that (and I've pretty much tried them all). It feels very heavy when you first apply, but after only a few moments, it melts into your skin and feels wonderful! I use it at night and when I wake up, my skin still feels great. This is the best moisturizer for anyone struggling with dry skin.

This balm moisturizes and protects my almost 60 year old skin very well. It is very thick and you must emulsify it before applying. It has a lovely slight fragrance. I am on Retin A and my skin is parched. Yesterday morning I even had a place on my face that was raw. When I got home from church, I washed all of my makeup off with the soothing cleansing oil and then applied the extra repair balm to my whole face. I added more balm at bedtime and definitely skipped the Retin A to give my skin a break. You would not believe the degree of healing that occurred in those 16 hours. I am very thankful to be able to have this product on hand to use when something "extra" is truly needed.
