I've been using this scrub for an year and I love it. My skin is oily with acne problem and this buffic grains from Bobby Brown makes my skin better and clearer. It leaves the skin so soft and matt. It's a small bottle but since I need to use only very small amount it lasts for very long. It's easy to carry for travel and smells great too.

Bobbi Brown's cleansing grains are the best I have ever used. They are gentle and yet strong enough for a good, deep cleansing. I have combination skin, so I can tailor the amount of grains that I need for my more oily areas. My face feels clean and refreshed after using. I especially like that I only need one cleansing gel, and can exfoliate in the evening when my face is more oily, and just use the cleanser in the morning.I can't see any reason for buying a different product that these innovative grains!

I have fair, sensitive skin. Exfoliation often irritates it. I find that adding the buffing grains to my daily facial cleanser works wonders for my skin! The bottle looks really tiny. But this shouldn't depress you. Actually the amount is quite decent or generous in light of your regular use. To me, it would be enough for 1-year or more. As for the effect, it lets you feel your pores opened, your skin renewed after immediate use. But later, your skin just goes back normal, the way it is...I will keep using and see if anything changes..

These buffing grains turn any cleanser into an exfoliant! Just mix a dime size amount with your cleanser and buff gently for wonderfully smooth skin. I use this two or three times a week on my combination skin. The sand is so finely milled and not rough at all. I use it on my feet, too! This is the best exfoliator for your skin that I can find. It works by itself or you can mix it with a foamy or cream cleanser. You do not need much and a little jar goes a long way. The grains are large enough that you can feel it working leaving your skin very soft. Other exfoliators may be cheaper, but I find this one last twice as long, so it is worth the money.

I use this product twice a week to exfoliate. The grains have a wonderful consistency without feeling too gritty. Prior to using this my skin had a tendency to get dry and flaky. Not any more! I was a little shocked how small the jar was! I like the option of course of mixing these little grains with other cleansers, ie foamy or creamy, depending what you face is doing. Using them alone with water is fine too. These little grains leave your skin very soft and hydrated. I use these 2-3x a week and don't have any problems. I've always loved the idea of adding dry 'grains' to a cleanser making a customized scrub and have even made my own. I love that Bobbi's version can also be used on it's own as it does have a very light cleansing/lathering agent. My only complaint is the price for the size - yes they do go a long way but $40 is a lot for any scrub. It would be nice if a refill pack were offered so you didn't need to purchase the lovely glass bottle each time.

The two most important things in taking care of my skin are thorough cleansing and exfoliation. I've been exfoliating since my early twenties and even though I have great genes...I couldn't go even a day without it.I kept getting samples of the Buffing Grains and finally had to purchase. Am glad I made the investment. It’s inexpensive, really. They last a long time and gently exfoliate my face. I can also use my cleanser without them when I want to do a deeper scrub or peel that day. My face needs different levels of exfoliation every day. There are exfoliating cleansers out there, but I can’t adjust them for my needs or put them near my eyes. I take my eye makeup off with my cleanser, then squirt a little more in my hand and mix in the cleansing grains. Simple.I still have half my bottle left, and I purchased months ago.This is a wonderful product. The rest of my skin care and makeup would be nothing without a good buffing.Great product:)

If you exfoliate, this is a must purchase. Truly, this is the best product you can get and I have not seen another like it. YOU determine how many crystals to use and you don't need many. I cleanse my face and use a wash cloth with water and a small amount of the grains and voila, my skin is smooth. No extra washing(like with other products) just pure grains. I have also mixed the grains with my cleanser, but found for me, it is best to use separate. This product gives you the control of how much you need...I've said it before, but it is a $$ saver and a great product. The best combination!

I had several samples and I fell in love with it from then. After reading some reviews in here about the price and the size of the bottle, I refrained from buying it for a long time. I finally broke down and got it. Yes, the bottle is small but there is A LOT of product in there. I have had my bottle for about 5 months, use it at least once/week and I have not even gone through a 5th of the bottle. Don't let the size of the product fool you. For what you're using it for, it is a good value for the money and it will last you a long time.My skin is soft and smooth and my neighbors have even commented that my skin is glowing! I noticed a difference after the first time I used the buffing grains. The true test was when my husband returned home from completing a three month rotation for his job and commented on my complexion. He actually thought I had some type of cosmetic procedure done to my face. I never realized how terrible my skin looked until that comment was made. i have dry, flaky skin, and i used to use the peeling gels from asian countries. they worked, but even after my skin was peeled, the surface was still not smooth, and i would still have skin peeling from under it.From a purchase i got from Bobbi Brown, they gave me a sample of this, along with the Lathering Tube Soap, and they told me to mix the two and use it as an exfoliator. I didn't think it would work if peeling gels didn't even work for me, but I tried it out and it works SO WELL! It wasn't even harsh, but it left my skin so smooth and free of flaking skin! I'm definitely going back to buy this!

I have been searching for an exfoliator that makes my skin look and feel refreshed and renewed for a very long time. This is the product of my dreams! I love that it is so customizable. If I feel that I need a little extra one day I just add some more to my cleanser. I use this in conjunction with the Bobbi Brown tube soap and find the two products to work wonderfully together. I use this twice a day and I can tell a huge different. I can get some dry patches here and there and after a washing with this they are long gone. My skin looks so healthy after using too. I really want to stress that even though the cost may be off-putting to some that it is really a great value and worth every dime. I have been using this twice a day for a couple weeks and I can barely see a difference in the jar, it REALLY lasts a long time.

I purchased these buffing grains based on all the outstanding reviews. Unfortunately, I didn't have amazing results. I have combination, sensitive skin. I used these several times and didn't notice a change in the texture or appearance of my skin. It didn't affect my skin in a negative way just no real change. I also found the glass bottle to be difficult to open and slippery in the shower and the large dispenser area in the top of the jar makes it very likely to pour out way too much and waste the product. I tried them with BB cleansing oil, lathering tube soap and on their own with no results. Will not be repurchasing this product.

My skin tends to be quite sensitive so I believe that when I first used this product I used a little too much of it and over scrubbed my face to the point that my skin felt tingling and looked red for a short while. However, I have since used just a little of the product and have not scrubbed so harshly and it works just fine now. It makes my skin feel very clean and very, very smooth. My moisturizer goes on so nicely after I have used the Buffing Grains. I would highly recommend it to anyone but with the caveat that they be more careful when washing with this product than I was the first time around since I have such sensitive skin. I can't get around saying it -- I just did not like the buffing grains at all. This is the first of Bobbi's skin care products I haven't *loved*. I expected to adore these from the first use! I couldn't wait to try them out!I used them with the lathering tube soap for my first time. And was so disappointed... I found them sort of mushy; they were not at all particularly gritty. It seemed that moistening them actually softened them beyond the point of use... not what I expected from an exfoliant. These grains are ground adzuki beans and that's exactly what they felt like... ground raw beans. Also -- and another first for me -- I didn't care at ALL for the smell. It was simply unpleasant; as if something organic had "turned" (I suppose that's a possibility).Other top-rate exfoliating products I've used are of comparable volume and price and sincerely far superior to this one in my opinion... and that is just a personal preference. The two stars are for the pretty product -- it really does look nice in the jar! -- and the adorable little jar (which wasn't nearly as small as I'd been anticipating from reviews here). The packaging itself was actually quite lovely. I thought the shaker top was perfect for dispensing. But from a Bobbi devotee it actually almost hurts to say it -- I will not be using this product again.

It is so gentle it can be used daily to get your skin exfoliated from each day's makeup. I love it and use it nearly every day. Makes my skin smoother for makeup application. coarse; crumbs stuck in eyebrows

pros:

I tried to like this. I have the tube soap and combined with the grains, but the grains were just too hard for my skin. And the little crumbs would hide in my eyebrows or hairline and I'd find them on my cheek or under my eye later in the day. And really, I know how to rinse! Plus, I almost dropped the glass bottle a zillion times in the shower--the packaging really needs to be rethought.

pros:

I really liked this product, it makes your face feel great and it reminds me of the beach to use it. However, i had it in my bathroom and my son knocked it off the side of the tub.. water got in the lid and it's now a big ball that i cannot remove from the glass container. I realize that's partially my fault but for the price something more bathroom friendly in the way of packaging could have kept me from throwing it away..

pros:

These grains work really well in exfoliating my skin without harm it. My face feels very soft after I use it (once a week) and it doesn’t leave my face feeling tight. I mix it with the Cleansing Oil which helps it move better and stay on. Wonderful product.

A good DIY Exfoliator

This is a very good scrub. It does its job of exfoliating well. I have used it with the BB tube soap and a creamy cleanser from another brand. It left my skin smooth, clearer and even a little brighter. It looked and felt better after i used it. I have used it on my hands & elbows too with good results. I do not like the fact that it does not dissolve completely and there are always a few grains left hanging around on your face, no matter how well you rinse. It gave good results despite that and I would buy it again. They also need to get rid of the glass bottle.

pros:

I didn't think I'd like this but received a generous sample at a BB counter and find myself liking it very much. Maybe it's because it mixes well with my cleanser, and somehow the combination just seems to work (I use a foamy moisturizing cleanser in a tube). I use it twice a week and my skin looks better after I've used it. Other than the glass bottle, which I love from a packaging perspective but seems like an accident waiting to happen in the bathroom, I will purchase the full bottle when my sample is finished.

I have tried many scrubs and this one is great. The grains are not harsh and once you rinse it off your skin feels so smooth. I like it since you can use it with water, or your favorite cleanser, it works well both ways. If you have trouble washing it all off without making a mess, I found that the trick is to use it just before you shower and wash your hair. Ta da! All clean.

I have used every scrub known to man..all OK but nothing special. I had my favorites from time to time..but now..well, life has changed!! I thought the discolorations on my neck and face were just part of aging..till one application of these beads that I put into some cleanser and used after a shower. My face and neck are now all glowing and the same color..no more blotchy skin! What?? Skin like velvet and all this after years of thinking this was how my skin was going to look forever! I am just amazed at the difference! I was using a major brand scrub at $25 a small tube and thought I was doing the best I could...till now! Nothing can compare to this...smooth and silky skin and you do not have to use it every day like my old...and you see results! Love this product! I take a tiny bit of my cleanser and mix it with grains and then put in my shower to be able to use it safely and not to spill it or get near the water. I have gotten in the habit of doing the mixing over a towel in case I drop the bottle, but so far no problems. Love all theExtra line and totally in love with BB products! Get this one!!!!

Excellent Buffing Grains

I love these Buffing Grains. I usually mix the grains with BB's soap in the tube and get glowing, baby-like skin results. Best buffing grains I've ever used. Instead of going to a spa to get a professional "salt glow" on my legs, I occasionally use the grains to exfoliate my legs, rub a small amount of light skin oil on afterwards and get excellent results.

Smooth Like Glass!

Day 1 using hydrating skin care regimen with buffing crystals and I think I am going to finally love the skin I'm in! I've been a make up vagabond...drifting from one brand to the next with disappointing results. I decided to switch to using BB exclusively. Used the hydrating wash with crystals. Finished up with toner and hydrating matte cream. For makeup, used concealer with pressed powder foundation. Waterproof eyeliner and cream shadow, waterproof mascara and long wearing lipstick. I went to a BBQ today. It was 100 degrees in the shade. I could not believe how well the make up defied heat and humidity. Received soooo many compliments on how pretty I looked! I like my face to take center stage and not my make up. The true test were my sons. I could have an eyeball hanging from my socket and they would not notice. But today, they both said "Gee Mom, you look pretty. Did you get your hair cut? ". I am now officially a Bobby Brown cult follower! I'll give you all an update in week two regarding the skin care regimen.

I have tried many brands of facial exfoliators and several have actually damaged my sensitive skin! But these little grains are just right for me--they allow me to control the ratio of liquid and grains and they aren't scratchy and harsh the way so many exfoliators feel.And that little glass jar is just adorable! In fact, I have so many pretty Bobbi jars now, I ordered a beautiful glass tray for my bathroom vanity so I can show them off!

I was skeptical to try this at first because I thought a buffing grain would only irritate my acne flare ups. However, my skin feels so soft after I use it, and it is a perfect exfoliator because I have control over it. Typically my skin dries out instantly after exfoliating, but because I can use any cleanser with this, I can adjust based on how my skin is behaving. Pair this with the Extra Balm Rinse and it's like a spa in your bathroom.

I am in love with these buffing grains-they are the perfect balance of gentle and effective. I have tried so many exfoliators, and it seems like you either get a product that is too harsh or not effective at removing dead skin, never both. Until I tried adding buffing grains to my cleanser, that is. I use these about once a week, and my skin is so smooth. I sprinkle just a little bit into my palm and then add some EXTRA rinsing balm, mix them together, and use to clean my face. For me, it's the perfect answer for exfoliating my dry face. A little goes a long way; I have had the same jar of buffing grains for over a year. I can't live without these!

I've had this exfoliator for a while and every time I use it I love it! But therein lies the problem...it is an absolute pain to use! The packaging is horrible! It's hard to get the right amount out without over pouring it. I've used this exfoliator about 8 times and the bottle is half empty. For the price the packaging could be a lot better! Now the exfoliator itself is quite nice! It leaves my face smooth and polished and I love that I can add it to my own cleanser! I would have given it 5 stars for sure if the packaging was better because it really is the only thing holding it back! I may consider transferring it to another bottle of some sort. All in all I enjoy it.

I'm a long time user of Bobbi Brown Extra skin care products which keep my naturally dry and sensitive skin in tip top shape. Yet in all the years of using the BB products I had not tried these buffing grains until recently. I guess I thought they'd be too harsh for my skin. But not...these work perfectly to exfoliate and leave my skin in even better shape. I use them twice a week, mixed into my Extra Cleansing Balm. Fabulous results for polished skin in gentle form. Like that you can control how much of this product you use by the dispense of the bottle. It's nice to control the amount especially if sometimes exfoliators make me dry. I like to use this item mainly in certain areas that are bothersome, so the item will probably last a while. I just don't like the packaging. It's annoying. Not easy at all. Too much sometimes comes out and vice versa.

Bobbi Brown's Buffing grains:At 60+, but still active in my chosen profession, I’ve used Bobbi’s Adzuki Powder Buffing Grains for years. I like the fact that they buff my skin gently and that I can use them as many times a week as I feel I need to: usually twice a week. I use them in the shower with my face cleanser, and I’ve never had a problem removing them from my face, eyes or eyelashes. I guess I’ve used the container long enough that a couple taps gives me just the right amount. I especially appreciate the fact that the adzuki beans are biodegradable and a renewable resource. I’ve just recently started adding the beans themselves to my diet as a great source of potassium.The Amazing, Biodegradable, Renewable, Adzuki Bean!

I love a good exfliator, and i like that this can be mixed with the cleanser of your choice. After reading the other reviews, i assumed the bottle was pretty small and difficult to regulate how much "grit" came out. I found the complete opposit. The bottle is pretty large, especially considering how much you need at a time. Also, i have not had a hard time at all controling the amount i use. Only negative is that it is a bit pricey, but that was to be expected with BB products.
