i've used bobbi's loose powder for many years. i started with the pale yellow (for winter months) but found i got a more custom color to suit any season when i mixed pale yellow with the golden orange shade. it's very cost effective since the powders last nearly a year with daily use. i'm a light to medium golden tan african-american who also uses the medium mineral powder now. i also used the medium and dark beauty balm creams mixed together in the summer with the mixed loose powder over that. works to perfection. although i have an oily t zone, nothing compares to the silky texture or natural finish i get with the loose powder. it's never drying or cakey over foundation. how about two new foundations in "pale yellow" and "golden orange" ? they could be mixed to fit a wide range of skin colors just like the sheer loose powder.

I've had this powder for 2 weeks now. I bought this because I wanted to see if using a tinted powder would look better than colorless translucent. In short, I wish I had saved my money. This powder gives good results, but not really better than what I was using before. And what I was using before was a fraction of the cost of this powder. I don't think that this really controls oil all that well. It is very expensive. As with most powders, it probably will last a while. Still, I don't think I'll repurchase this

This product is OK for me so far. Powder is alright...very light coverage, I like it on my face. Disappointed when it arrived though, very tiny container compared to loose powders I've purchased before from other brands, and there was not even a powder applicator fluff inside so I couldn't use the powder right away! Maybe I'd like it more if I had a better powder brush or fluff. But for as expensive as the product is, they could at least stick one of those in there. Doesn't make sense.

I have used translucent face powder for years, but Bobbi is right on - using a yellow based powder really brightens your face! I use this in pale yellow, it looks great on my skin, is very soft and light feeling. I definitely recommend this powder!

pros:
I lightly dust this over my BB cream or foundation and it gives a perfect finish for my work day. It doesn't add any color & doesn't make me look too matte or dry. It just gives me the staying power I need. I am a BB Cream Light/Sand foundation and the Pale Yellow was the perfect shade for me. Finely milled and very high quality. It will last me forever too. (A tip-just pull back part of the sticker that covers the holes where the powder comes out. You won't waste any powder or get too much on your brush.)

I've been using Bobbi powder for years and am completely addicted. But I'm knocking off a star to reflect my disappointment that they no longer sell the regular loose powder in the bigger jar, just the sheer in the teeny jar. $36 is a lot for powder in any case, but before it felt like a justifiable extravagace. Now, in this economy, it feels like my secret shame powder. And I liked the coverage from the regular powder. Boo Bobbi. I otherwise love you.

Like the other reviewers I was stunned to see that my holy grail powder is now only offered in a paltry .25 oz. size instead of the 1 oz. size and for slightly more money. In this economy, thats hard to swallow for a product I used to use generously over my oily skin. An even bigger gripe is that the formula has changed and it does not have the same coverage or oil absorption power as the old one. Aside from the color (pale yellow), which I love, it's the same as dozens of other powders out there now. Sadly, I will not be paying $$$ to buy a miniscule amount of product that does not meet my expectations. Shame, BB, your makeup is usually stellar.

pros:
The powder itself is great, but the huge decrease in size combined with the cost make it a product I won't be buying again. There are way more options out there where you'll get more for your money. Even her pressed powder is now a larger size by weight. I love bb products but the change in size without a reflection in the price makes me feel unappreciated as a customer, did she think we wouldn't notice??? Sorry, but I don't recommend this product anymore.

I love this powder. I have very pale skin and most powders turn orange on me. This product is very sheer and doesnt really add color, just goes on over foundation to keep the foundation in place to last all day.

I love this sheer powder! I have used it, and countless other Bobbi Brown products, for close to two decades now and I was so disappointed to discover that my most recent purchase of this powder came in a significantly smaller package at the same price as the former, larger size. What happened?!? Why downsizing so much? Please bring back the larger size or I will be forced, reluctantly, to find a new face powder. Right now, it's not worth the money, as the small size doesn't last long at all.

This makes my skin look fabulous. I get the white (because I'm pale as a ghost) but I can see a touch of yellow. It does keep the shine down for half the day. I touch up my nose with the compact powder once during the day and that's enough to keep the shine down for the rest of the day.

Bobbi Brown has reduced the size from 1.0 oz to 0.21 oz - now it is basically a sample size for the price of a full size. I have used this powder forever and recommended it to so many people. But now I am looking for a new powder. Too bad because I love it but I will not pay the same for over 75% less product.

I've used this powder forever, but I'm now shopping the competition, completely due to the container. After you've used about half the powder, it's almost impossible to sift it through the holes. I've used scissors to enlarge the holes, and it's still difficult to get the powder out. You can forget trying to pry the sifter off the container. It's like it's glued on. It didn't used to be this way. So frustrating. It's too bad, because the powder is great. Just can't stand the container.

As many other reviewers have commented, I am extremely disappointed to see the significant reduction in value. This is a hefty price tag for many customers already, and now the amount of product is comparable to a sample size! I love this powder, but I'm going to have to find an alternative. I simply can no longer afford this powder :(

I am very pleased with this product as contrary to the reviews I've read. I have been shopping around for a loose powder that works and blends with my foundation and BB Sheer Loose Powder Pale Yellow did that! I switched from my old powder to BB! It gives the light coverage and right amount of setting for my foundation. What I love about BB products is that it looks very natural on the skin. Highly recommended!
