Great before it was even better

This product is superb. I used it long before the new version and I found it to often be able to form a smooth surface where no other of Bobbi's products were. And don't be fooled - this stuff is lighter weight than you think if you've used other comparable types of makeup bases. A great product for location and travel. If there is any room for improvement here, I'd want a much smaller size product for indeed travel. This takes up a lot of room in a bag which, as we all know, is a big deal now-a-days with air travel as much of a hassle as it is.

I bought this over the weekend. I was absolutely thrilled for a compact makeup. I loved the moisture compact so much. Please note this is oil-free and has a drier consistency . It is probably meant for people that don't have dry skin but, if you do this can still work. I load up on my moisturizer and apply with my fingers. I really didn't care for thick sponge it came with. But, if you can get it applied just right the finish is beautiful. I think it makes your skin look very natural. Because I have dry skin I would probably not use this as my everyday foundation but, it is a great foundation.

I use many of bobbi's foundations for different reasons. None of thm were really perfect. This works for me the best out of all. It makes your skin look poreless (I have large pores!). Important to note my skin is on the more oiler side. Would probably not be great for someone with dry skin. SOOO natural looking! Not cakey at all. A winner

This new foundation is awesome. The coverage is full but still natural looking. It controlled my oil. I use Warm Almond and it is a perfect match. One downside is the smaller package and higher price. I just bought this foundation and I wear foundation every day. I hope it lasts for more than one month.........

I love Bobbi's Long Wear eye products and her illuminated bronzer but I have yet to get one of her foundation products to work well for me. I have tried them all and spent quite a bit of money on them. I always love how it looks when I first put it on but a few hours later, it's blotching and disappearing on my combo skin. This new Long Wear Compact Foundation is no exception. It's beautiful for the first hour or so and then it's all down hill. It never stays on more than a few hours, four hours is the absolute most it will stay on and I always have to touch up by lunch. I have tried every primer, sunscreen or moisture on the market and even tried it on bare skin and it does the same. But the color match for me, Warm Sand... is perfect.

A Solid Performance Foundation

This is way better than the old oil-free compact. It is less cakey, but I wish it were a bit more dewy. It is a natural matte finish, and also oil free so I have to moisturize extra well to make this work for me. The shade is great - 3.5 Warm Beige for my fair to medium olive Indian complexion. The sponge is nice, and the compact package is great. I didn't give it 5 stars because it looks so much dewier on Katie Holmes than it does on me. Also, it does not wear for 12 hours - wears well for about 6 hours at most.

I recently switched to the Long-Wear Compact, seeking more coverage than the Mineral Makeup. I love how easily it goes on and the natural finish it provides while still providing good coverage. I learned the hard way, though, that my oily skin can't handle moisturizer before applying - it takes away the long-wearing aspect. But without moisturizer, it wears great!

I usually wear natural (winter) or warm natural (summer) and loves how it stays on for hours. The only negative is that I noticed the compact gives you less when the price went up. : - (

I was hoping this would replace my beloved Bobbi Brown moisturizing foundation compact that was discontinued awhile ago. This is a bit drier, which I expected, so I used a little moisturizer first. It's okay. However, the compact itself is somewhat smaller than the old one and there's a LOT less actual product in the compact. Will not last long, so not worth the money.

I'm very picky about my choice of products. I can tell this is a good foundation, but if you have really dry skin as I do, this is not what you should be using. It continued to flake up in my T-zone area and looked to be melting away on my cheek area. i tried setting with loose powder but my skin just absorbed it all. The quality is great just not for combination skin.

pros:

Typically only wear powder foundations with good coverage. I have combo skin, no acne, but redness, uneven skin tone, and sun damage on 40+ skin. I find this to be lightweight, but able to cover and even out skin. I find the finish to be natural and RADIANT (not Dewey). I prefer to use my fingers all over, and then a flat top foundation brush for red cheeks. I prefer no finishing powder (which I have never done with any foundation). After 6+ hours, blot or finishing powder and I am good all day! Also find the smooth formula pore minimizing.

Terrible value on a great product

It's been awhile since I've bought this foundation. I had switched to a mineral foundation one summer and just recently realized it was not cutting it on my large nose pores. So I ordered the BB foundation again because I had loved it a few years ago. One review I had read mentioned the smaller size but I thought that was referring to the smaller size I encountered at my last purchase. Wrong. This product has shrunk AGAIN. And the price remains the same. I was just shocked when I opened my package tonight. It's unreal how little you get for the price. While I like the product, I can't justify the cost anymore so I will be looking for something else .... Very soon since my new compact probably won't even last a month! So disappointing.

Finally my perfect foundation!

I have been using this for about 2 weeks now. Initially did have some difficulty color matching, everything looks so different in natural light. But happily I found the perfect shade, which is sand. I absolutely love this product! It goes on smoothly and quickly and provides the perfect amount of coverage, you can apply lightly or layer as needed for more coverage. It seems to last forever, and I find that I don't even have to touch it up with powder, my face never looks shiny with this makeup. If you are looking for a natural looking makeup that lasts and lasts give this one a try!

I agree with the reviews that are disappointed with the size of this product. It is SO small. This is a really, really great foundation, but I also do not know if I can justify repurchasing this because of the price and very small size. When I spend this much on a foundation, I want to know that it will last me at least 4-6 months, if not longer. I feel like this is not even going to make it to two if I wear it everyday! Bobbi, what is going on here?!?

I bought this on a whim out looking for yet another foundation for my extremely oily acne prone skin! I must say this has to be the best match ever and I love how little you need to achieve a beautiful look. I wear warm natural Im half German and African American. I don't get the full 12 hrs I find myself touching up after about 4 hrs I use the finishing powder with this as well. I love how natural this looks but like others the amount you get for the high price is shameful . I apply with a foundation brush so Im hope that will make it last a little longer.

I like this foundation and how it looks and feels on my face, but I had only used it about five times before I hit the bottom of the compact. The discontinued moisturizing compact foundation that I used to use had much more foundation that lasted a good while. I'm not sure I will buy this again for that reason. For the price, there should be more of the product included. Very disappointed that Bobbi did this.

I was blown away with the first use of this product. It covers great, matched my skin perfectly and a little goes a long ways. I could not see it on my skin. After several uses though I am unsure. I have normal skin leaning towards dry. I tend to sweat throughout the day which I didn't notice before with other foundations. When I sweat, small beads of perspiration build up on top of the makeup. I went back to my old foundation and realized that either my old foundation absorbs the sweat or wears it off. Maybe its my moisturizer underneath the foundation. Not sure if I will return or not. I don't like the look of little beads of water sitting on my face.

I was excited to walk out of the store with this product after having it applied to my skin. Perfect color match and excellent coverage. I have oily, acne prone skin and this foundation covered dark spots beautifully! I only wish there was more of the product for the amount of money that I spent. I expected, at least, a three to four month supply of product. Unless this changes, I will go back to shopping around!!!

I really like the idea of a compact, easy use and for on the go. However, I felt like this was not as smooth on my skin. I have very oily skin so it glided ok, but didn't like the finish result on this particular, looked slightly muddy. I think for me it would be good for touch ups only or if you have zero skin issues it may give the flawless look for you. I didn't feel it stayed on all day as claimed. I do use the Long Wear Even Finish Foundation SPF15 and absolutely love this better for my every day foundation, it stays put and literally stays on all day. Purchased the compact in same color Natural, seemed a bit darker than the liquid foundation. I will keep for touch ups, but not reorder.

I like how convenient this compact is for traveling and very easy to use for touch ups but the foundation only lasts about four hours on me I do carry the compact with me and do a touch up after those four hours and for the price will not buy again I only had it less then a month and already starting to run out.

Loved the idea of this product, especially using a powder to cream product in the past by another brand, that was recently discontinued, decided it's a time to move on. So I heard of this makeup. Tried to get matched to the makeup but only to find the color looked yellowish/orangish on my skin. Ick! So no color options for me. I had to return it. :/ But guess that's not too bad for the reason of it gets used awfully fast, as I heard from my sister and other people. But the quality of the item is nice. Just need more colors and cheaper or have more product for the money!

I have been using this product for steadily for the last week, and I have remained impressed. The coverage (on me) is medium, and the finish is matte. I wear "sand" (2) in the other foundation formulas, and that is the shade that matches perfectly in this product as well. I have been using the foundation brush to apply this foundation, but I love that it comes with a sponge in the compact for application on-the-go. I found that this foundation lasts for the entire day, but I have not worn it in warm weather yet, so perhaps that will change when the temperatures rise with the onset of summer. I do agree with some of the other reviewers when they complain that there is not much product for the price of this product. The compact is fairly good size, but the pan itself is not very large. Still, I think I will replace this product once I have used it all.

For years I wore Bobbi's "Oil Free Even Finish Compact Foundation" and loved it. I was so disappointed when it was phased out. When I saw this new long-wear version, I thought I'd try it and had high hopes that the product would be even better than the original. Unfortunately, it does not work well for my skin. I have fairly sensitive skin that is prone to breakouts. This new long-wear formula is simply too thick and chalky, and I am dissatisfied with the finish. Rather than looking healthy, my skin just looks chalky. Even when I tried to thin it out with a damp sponge, the finish was poor; thinning it out reduced the amount of coverage, yet it was still quite noticeable that I had on makeup. Bobbi, bring back the old oil-free version! I do not recommend this product.

I loved the old Oil Free compact foundation. This is really a disappointment. It does not wear any longer than any other foundation, and the finish is not great. It seems almost drying and cakey. I've tried multiple brushes, etc. to put it on, and nothing works. I'll probably keep this in my bag for touch ups throughout the day, but I wouldn't make this my main foundation.

I am so disappointed, because I really actually love this product. However, for the same price as my old liquid foundation with 1 ounce, this is only .28 ounces and lasted me 3 weeks. This is ridiculous and I find it hard to believe that Bobbi would sell something with such little value like this. I am/was a faithful user of Bobbi Brown's Oil Free Foundation Compact. I was so happy to find a makeup that looks great on my skin (I always received complements), but most of all did not cause breakouts. I was willing to pay the price for the quality. I would buy two compacts online and then found a store that sold it in my region. I have since found another product that works and is cheaper, but I wish BB would read these reviews and satisfy its customers by returning the original Oil Free Foundation Compact. This product is no comparison!

I just love this new foundation. I first use the gel moisturizer and then apply this with a brush and I get a flawless perfect skin. It covers minor imperfections and you can't see it on the surface of your skin. I absolutely love this foundation and will definitely continue to use it. It is now my go-to foundation.

I really wanted to love this, but this product isn't for my finicky skin. It only looks good on your skin if your skin already looks good bare-faced. If my skin was smooth and not flaky, then I wouldn't need foundation in the first place. In all honesty, it probably is a good product, but it just doesn't work for me.

This foundation is the best makeup product I have ever used. I have liked a couple of foundations in the past, but I have never loved one -- until now. I like a natural look, and this makeup delivers. I check it out in sunlight and in a 10X mirror, and I can't see any obvious makeup. I just look like I naturally perfect skin. I don't normally gush about products, but I can't adequately convey my devotion to this foundation. Some people have lowered the score because of the price for the amount. But since I have started so many foundations that I never finished, this is a good deal for me because I will actually use this one.

Big claims, Small delivery

I was absolutely thrilled when my compact arrived. I tried it at the counter in the department store, and I would have bought it on-spot, but my color was not in stock (6, Golden). When I finally put it on to wear for the day, I was crestfallen. Yes, the product melds with the skin so well, I initially thought I didn't have any on the brush at first and needed a second swipe. Yes, the color was spot-on (for me, anyway), and yes, the finished look was lovely. However, three hours into the day, everything unraveled. The product transferred like crazy, my pores looked like you could park a car in them, and I was so shiny, I looked like a disco ball double-dipped in sebum. I tried it with a different oil-absorbing primer, same result. I later started to break out in places I don't usually have acne (like my forehead and under my eyes). I've accepted the fact that I take "oily skin type" to a whole new level, but I've been far less shinier with liquid moisture foundation. I wanted to like this foundation, and I've found things to like about it, but I feel the formula needs some tweaking before it's compatible with a wider range of skin types.

Not so long wear

This is the first BB foundation I've tried. I have combination skin and now that I've hit 40, I need some coverage to even out my skin. When I first put this foundation on at 6:30 am, my skin looks AMAZING. Even, natural, and velvety-smooth. However, by the time I get to the office and have a cup of coffee, I start to see shine. By lunch time, I really need a blotting paper and some powder. By dinner-time, the product seems to have worn off in places. If I could get that morning look to last even most of the day, I'd be thrilled. I'll use the rest of my compact bc it was SO EXPENSIVE, but I won't be buying this again.

Fresh feeling but full coverage

I have tried many, many foundations and this one is by far my favorite I've been using it for 2 months. It provides full coverage but does not feel heavy and allows my skin to breathe. With other foundations I can't wait to get home to wash my face but not with this one! I do have to apply it again and do get some shine but I use an anti shine product which helps (I have shine no matter what I use...)

I really miss the oil-free compact foundation. This does not have the same coverage or feel. Plus it does not work well with my normal-to-oily skin type. The packaging appears smaller while the price point increased four dollars. I will continue to use other BB makeup, but I used the oil-free compact since 2001 and that was the product that kept me coming back for more.

I put this on one side of my face to compare to the another side. It was like night and day! My skin looked so polished and smooth.I had been wearing a foundation that was very expensive and it was clogging my pores and turning shiny mid day. This foundation stayed all day with no touch ups! I applied with the foundation brush and it just looks beautiful. I get compliments on how pretty my "skin" looks, not how pretty my "makeup" looks! I got the Bare Pink lipstick and Nude Pink blush, just soft and natural, I feel pretty.P.S. I wear the warm sand color that just tones down the redness in my cheeks, no concealer needed. Just a beautiful foundation, Thanks Bobbi!!!
