pros:

I wanted this when it came out but only just recently borrowed it to read for fun. This was first published in 1997 so it was interesting for me to see how Bobbi's philosophies have evolved. For instance, this was written prior to the launch and huge success of her shimmerbrick (and eventually a whole lot of shimmer/glitter products) and one of her recommendations is no shimmer except on eyes and lips. These days she still recommends subtly with shimmer in general but it is interesting to see how the times change.This does have more technical application info than say Beauty Evolution and is a great starter beauty reference as all of Bobbi's basics are covered, however, you may want to purchase the newer Makeup Manual if you can only do one book.

pros:

I bought this book back when it was published., and loved it. I was in my 20s, and fount it very useful. I have since lost the copy, and just recently purchased a replacement. Worth the investment!
