I do a lot of traveling so my makeup does too. I often have to store my brushes loosely in my makeup bag while on the go. I have found that if the bristles aren't covered at all times they tend to separate and the outer bristles tend to stick out making application difficult. This would, of course, happen to any brush over time but I have had others that maintained better durability. I didn't have much success when cleaning the brush and attempting to re-shape it which was disappointing. But overall, if you are good at brush maintenance (which I am not) then it's a good product. I also like the short handle!

I am on my second one of these brushes, after misplacing the first one. In the meantime, I tried other eyeliner brushes with Bobbi's gel eyeliner, but none of them work as well as this one, which makes sense since it is designed especially for the gel liner! The special trick is to hold the brush parallel to your lashline when you apply; works every time for a very smooth line. This brush is well worth the money - I'm glad I purchased it.

The brush is perfect for gel eyeliner, but it also works well with pencil eyeliners for more natural looking eyelines. I'm one of those women who find applying gel eyeliner a real challenge. I can apply lipstick in a dark cab but when it comes to eyeliner... Bobbi's ultra fine eyeliner brush has firm, densely packed bristles that hold their own against gel eyeliners. Unlike other eyeliner brushes the bristles on Bobbi's brush don't spread out when you run the brush thru the gel liner. They hold their shape. The brush makes a firm & even line-- & all w/o scratching the lid. Also, you can angle the brush to control the thickness of your line. All in all, I'd recommend purchasing this brush. It is a mainstay of my brush collection.

I recently purchased a bobbi brown ultra fine eyeliner brush. I love it! The quality, the design, the balance and length are all perfection. I have bought bobbi's cosmetics before, but never any tools. I can't say enough about this brush. It holds its shape month after month of daily use. My eyes are lined perfectly every time. I purchased my first Ultra Fine Eyeliner Brush to apply the Long Wear Gel Eyeliner recommended to me by a Bobbi Brown online rep when I purchased three shades of Long Wear Creme Shadow. I loved the control--I could make a beautiful thin or thick line just where I wanted it. The hairs were secure and firm but just supple enough for a perfect application. The quality of workmanship led me to think this brush would last a very long time. I felt extremely satisfied with my purchase and looked forward to putting on my makeup again. One night while I was out, our puppy got my brush off the bathroom counter and chewed it up! I considered other eyeliner brushes but couldn't find one to compare to Bobbi's. Fortunately, Bobbi Brown had a 20% off with free shipping sale shortly afterwards. I can happily report that I have a new eyeliner brush and keep it safely away from my dog!

This brush is a must have for use with gel eyeliners. I would recommend purchasing the shorter brush if you are doing your own makeup (rather than using on someone else). I apply my makeup using a lighted makeup mirror and the longer brush ends up being difficult to maneuver. If you have great vision and can apply your makeup from a greater distance, get whichever size you prefer. For those of us with over 40 eyes, the shorter will probably work better!

At the same time, a feather application on the lower line gives you something subtle and soft, which can be hard to get below. Even when I do something thick (especially if it's bright) on the upper line, I still use this for the tight line that makes my lashes look lusher.

This brush allows for the best lines, but goes to waste unless taken care of- cleaning the brush after every use is super important, otherwise the bristles lose their fine shape fairly quickly. If I don't have time to clean it (I'm always running out the door) then I at least try to shape the bristles to a flattened tip for easier application later.

This brush applies cream eyeliners easily. I refuse to use fine point eyeliner brushes now because it is difficult to apply. If you have a shaky hand, get this brush! I use the long-wear gel eyeliners EVERYDAY and usually with this brush. The brush is very unique compared to other liner brushes. The brush-head is tapered to a point, unlike angled liner brushes or the very thin liner brushes. This provides a lot of stability, especially for those new to gel/liquid eyeliners, and allows you to draw thin or thicker lines without changing brushes. I have had the brush for over 7 months and it has held up very well with regular cleansing. A must have for novices.

I've used the gel eyeliner almost daily for a few years. I initially bought the eyeliner and not the brush, thinking: I'll save some dollars and use a brush I have or just buy the drugstore variety. Hmm. I have to laugh at that. The Ultra Fine Brush has paid for itself over and over. I bought the long brush after my own brushes started dropping fibers/hairs on my eyelids. I loved the Bobbi Brown brush so much that I bought the short one last year. (You never know when there might be a shortage!)This brush is amazing in that it works seamlessly. It deposits the perfect amount of eyeliner sans lumps or globs. If I want a thin line, no problem! Same with a more obvious line. These days, I like to apply "dots," and this brush works effortlessly and quickly -- on upper and lower lids. I'm no makeup pro, but the brush is. It's super easy to use to achieve different looks.I say investment, because these brushes do last. I only recently threw out my very first Bobbi Brown brush. It never lost fibers or broke, but after a few years of constant use, the brush area widened. I do clean the brush daily, because as a contact lenses wearer, I'm super careful with anything that comes close to my eyes. This brush does *not* irritate at all.

I bought this brush to go along with the gel liner, the women at the counter showed me how easily it glided over my hand, I should of asked her to do one of my eyes. These are the nice things I found about the brush, easy to store, to keep clean, taken care of properly they last a really longtime, and even though I find it slow going if I really want to take the time I can get the look I want and a big plus is I find it sheds very little. Now for part I'm not so found of and why I rarely use this brush, I can do a much quicker job and get the result I want with the slanted brush that has a bit less give with it's stiffer bristles. I also find I do not waste as much product with the slanted one, where as I find myself continuously wiping the sides of this brush. Preference is everything, and I am sure many with sensitive eyes would love the softer bristles.

I have this in the short handled version (short handles make SO much more sense to me!) and I get a lot of satisfaction from this little brush each and every time I use it. It is excellent for Bobbi's gel eyeliners but I put mine into service for powdered shadows that I mix with water and also use as liners! this brush is a must have classic. Really- try the short handled one...it gets easily into the corners of the eye and just feels like a natural extension of your hand!

I like the Ultra Fine Eyeliner Brush a lot. I wish I had known that you had one with a shorter handle when I purchased it but I didn't get it from your site so I have the long handled brush. That's the only thing that bothers me. Other than that, it's a great brush. I also use it to fill in the top of my eyelashes where sometimes the mascara hasn't gotten.

I purchased this along with the gel liners when they first came out because at the time I only had the slanted eye liner brush. I find it perfect to use for that purpose and have occasionally used it damp with powder liner as well.I think this is good starter liner brush. The bristles are stiffer, shorter and thicker than a liquid liner style brush even though it is called 'ultra fine' so if you are used to the baby-fine liquid liner brushes you may find this one a bit too thick. I am still able to get a thin, precise line at the root of my lashes for that lash-enhancing, no liner look but it takes more patience than using a flat 'push' liner brush. I also wipe the sides down on the edge of my liner pot or back of my hand prior to applying as you only need a little gel liner (much easier to add more than take away excess). For those who have a hard time drawing a smooth, one stroke line, try dotting small dashes along the lash line & then blending together.I do wish they had the short handle version when I bought mine - I ended up sawing & sanding the end to make mine short enough that it doesn't hit the mirror while applying. Even though I collect makeup brushes and have many, I haven’t seen another one just like this one – although my passion is for the big, fluffy face brushes more so than detailed eye brushes.As with all of Bobbi's brushes, I haven't had any issues with quality - no shedding or coming loose from the base.

I came of age in the '60's, when the only eyeliner available was liquid, and it had to be (1) perfectly applied, (2) black, (3) evenly tapered from thin to thick. If I only had this brush back then, I'd probably have wrinkle-free skin and lead a stress-free life today. I've been using this brush for about 5 years, and it outperforms all the rest (yes, I tried skinny paintbrushes, I'm no fool). It's appropriate for every line I've ever attempted and application is PERFECT; it's excellent for travel, and should I lose my mind, all Bobbi's brushes are labeled on the handles. It literally can't be beat. Even with trembling hands, poor vision, and, of course, self-esteem issues.

I use the end of the brush handle to get a bit of gel out of the pot. Then I put the gel on top my hand, which allows me to get just the right amount of product on the brush. I use a bit of eye make-up remover to clean the brush after each use which prevents gel build up. If you use the gel liner, you're going to want this brush.

For many of us…There’s a learning curve with this brush. I found it difficult to use with the Gel Eyeliner when I first received it, and then a Bobbi Brown makeup artist showed me how she did it. It worked for me. I won’t go into the technique because what’s right for me may not be good for you. That being said, if you’re having difficulty applying gel liner with it (not an ace right from the get-go like some), you do need to wipe off any excess and work with a smaller amount than you normally would with other gel or cream eyeliners…unless you love a really heavy line. That way you have control. BB’s Gel Eyeliner really stays put, but there’s less play time…a small price to pay.I use this brush a lot now because I found that it works with any eye-lining product except liquid. Thick, dark eyeliner is not a good look on me, so when I’m in a hurry and want a quick fine line, I use this brush with powder eye shadow wet or dry. I can line both eyes in less than a minute. Wish I was that talented with the gel liner, but I’m not.When time is available…this is hands down the best brush to use with the BB’s Gel Eyeliner. The brush and liner together make my eyes look as though they’ve been lifted. Now that’s a good thing:)

I was hesitant about purchasing this brush, but ladies, you will not regret it! The bristles on the brush are firm (but not too much so) so they give your a perfect straight line that looks incredibly natural, without lumps or variations of intensity. The combination of the handle length and brush head lead to a really controllable application. You can achieve thicker lines AND thinner lines with this brush, and you don't have the problems usually encountered with thinner brushes (they tend to lead to false looking, super-thin, uneven lines).The lifespan of this brush also exceeds that of similar style brushes (I just replaced mine after owning the other one for over 4 years!). Just be sure to clean properly after each application, and avoid hot water and getting brush cleaning fluid into the base of the bristles as this will cause them to fall outIt is incredible the difference one brush can have on the effect of the eyeliner, so ladies, if you're not happy with your liner brush, here is the perfect one for you! This brush works perfectly with Bobbi's gel eyeliner. I can't imagine using anything else. I dip it in the gel, swipe it on the inside of the container to get off the excess, and line my eyes. It picks up the perfect amount of liner to do both eyes, top and bottom, for me. If I want more, I can go back and go over it. The bristles are packed tightly enough for control, but are flexible enough to move in close to where you want to line. When I'm finished using it I just wipe it off on a tissue for next time.

If you buy the gel eyeliner you have to also get this brush! It is simply perfect for the application of Bobbi’s gel eyeliner. The size and shape is excellent, it is evident that much thought went into the design. It has a flat head but since the bristles are somewhat firm the side is perfect for use when you want a thinner, finer line. Love it!

I've had this Bobbi Brown fine eyliner brush for a number of years. While I no longer use the kind of eyeliner that would require a brush (I prefer pencil these days for that purpose) when I was using a powdered liner there was no better brush for precise application than this one.Now I find this little gem of a brush works really well for dotting and blending in just the smallest amount of highlighing shadow near the inside edge of my eye, near the tear duct, for that "makeup artist trick" to brighten eyes.Although I have never used this brush as much as some of my other BB brushes (the shadow, shading and blush brush as examples which are work horse brushes for me) it has been a great tool when I need it. Just like a speciality knife in a kitchen, the right tool makes all the difference. Absolutely worth the investment.

I have a mini version of this brush that was part of a gel eyeliner palette. Until it wore out, it was great!When I bought this one, the brush end was again, perfect. However, the handle is far too long for me. To ensure precise lining, I have to get so close to the mirror that I am constantly hitting the end of the brush on the mirror. I have poked my eye and messed up the lining on more than one occasion.I am considering buying another kit just so I can get another mini brush or taking a saw to this one and cutting a few inches off the end.Additionally, the mini brush in the kit came with a cap. This one didn't. Without a cap, if you are unable to wash immediately after use, you end up with a hard, stiff mess.I so hope Bobbil comes out with a short handled version of this brush!

I am a complete hopeless case with eyeliner. This brush has improved my self esteem...(you know, it's the little things.) But, really, I can now draw on a fierce line - upper and lower. I can make it look trim or a little smokey. The combo of the creamy eyeliner and this brush is everything I have been looking for. See, I was thinking it was me, and yes, I am not a make-up artist. I thought my lids were wonky, thought I just didn't look good in liner anymore - but lo and behold, I just needed the right product. RUN to the check out line. I love the gel liners and this brush is the best tool for applying the gel liners. I just wish it would last longer. I use it every day and wipe all excess liner off brush with tissue. I have even tried cleaning it with brush cleaner every ten days. After 2-3 months the brush begins to fray and makes putting on the liner quite messy! That being said, since the gel liner last all day and this brush is the only brush that applies the liner so well I will continue to purchase the brush again and again.

I LOVE the gel eyeliners, but the brush is for the birds. I have both the older brush and the newly designed brush. They are both just ok, they'll do in a pinch. Over the past few years I've tried 6-7 different fine eyeliner brushes, and the one that wins hands down is Smashbox's fine liner brush. It is angled, easy to control, and I can apply as thin or as thick a line as I want. Bobbi Brown's brush needs another redesign because they haven't 'gotten it' yet.

I went in search of the perfect eyeliner brush after many years of either cutting down the thicker ones I purchased, or trying paint brushes in order to achieve the perfect line! I purchased Bobbi's ultra fine brush thinking it probably wouldn't be what I wanted, and I was very pleasantly surprised to find it was PERFECT. It lays down the PERFECT line the first time, and when using cream eyeliner, it stays put all day. After my first day of using this brush with cream eyeliner, when I went to take my makeup off that night, my eyeliner still looked "just applied"! I am SO HAPPY that I've finally found the Holy Grail of Eyeliner Brushes. Thank you, Bobbi!

This is easily my favorite makeup brush. It's just right-on in every aspect. I love the close tapering of the bristles. The head itself is just long enough. The bristles are dense and tight. It's just a luxurious and very smart little brush.And it works so well! The reviews describing how it's hard to mis-apply your gel liner using this brush aren't really exaggerating... it really is practically fool-proof. You need to pay attention to how much liner you're carrying on the tip of course and if you do that it's possible to do a quick expert job every time. I usually have a hard time lining my eyes equally. I taper from the center of the top lid thickening as I go down to the outer corner... I don't want the line too wide; I try to keep it the same width all the way down. Half the time I end up redoing at least one eye.With this brush the width of the line is super-easy to manage! All you do is adjust the amount of pressure you use to press the bristles against your eyelid. Equal pressure and a quick sweep and poof! Done!Such a help for those of us who can use help with the liner part! :) Thank you Bobbi. This one really earns its place. I love it. It's definitely my favorite BB brush and one I plan to purchase in multiples! I haven't seen another like it.

This brush works so much better than any other brush I've tried before for eyeliner! It creates a perfect line, no matter if you're shaky-handed like me or experienced at applying liner! I have a few travel-sized ones too and if you find yourself squinting in front of the mirror trying to see like I do (contacts go in after eye makeup!), the shorter handle makes it a lot easier.

When Bobbi introduced this products, I couldn't wait to give it a try. Now I wear this liner everyday and Bobbi will have to stop making it for them to pry it from my cold, dead hands! I stopped trying other products and use this exclusively. Its so exciting when new shades are introduced! It glides on smoothly and stay all day long, which is saying something since I have oily lids. You can make the line subtle or dramatic and it stays on until you take it off. I always recommend this product to people looking for a really good eyeliner. IMHO, you can't get better than this eyeliner.

Proof that even those line-challenged among us can draw a perfect line. I have even perfected the "mini-kitten"! I have been a big fan of Bobbi's gel liners for years and have loved so many of the colors from the fun Ivy Shimmer Ink and Violet Ink to the reliable every day Caviar Ink and Espresso Ink. In order to achieve a nice clean line, a good brush is absolutely essential. This brush is shaped wonderfully for getting a nice fine line or a thicker bolder line, depending on your mood. The elegant long thin handle is easy to control.

This brush is hands down the best eyeliner brush that I have ever used. It is well worth the money. The way that it's designed allows you to either draw on a slim line or turn it and get a wider line if you wish. Paired with the eye liner gel, which does not smudge on my oily skin, it's just the perfect combination for me. As a life long eye pencil user, I thought there would be a long learning curve to using a brush, but this brush makes it so easy!

I really never paid much attention to makeup brushes until I bought this one. It makes such a difference in the application of Bobbi's Gel Eyeliner I would never use anything else. Of course I won't use any other eye liner than the Long Wear Gel Eyeliner either.All my eyeliner pencils went in the garbage after I used this brush with Bobbi's Gel Eyeliner. This brush is not too long, but is wider than eye pencils I've tried. I think this is what makes it easier to hold and control. I could never get a nice straight line until I started to use this brush. Also, you can use it side on for an ultra fine line or use the flat side for a thicker line. I, the super non-expert, have even learned to turn the brush as I go and get a very thin line in the corners with a bit thicker line in the center of my lid. Amazing!The bristles in this brush are super soft and thick and even though I clean mine often, it doesn't shed. This brush is worth every cent and led me to buy other Bobbi Brown brushes. Definitely a quality product.

This brush is single-handedly to blame for my obsession to gel eyeliner. I own many eyeliner brushes supposedly designed for the perfect eyeliner application. Even though I tried and tried, with those brushes, I could just never master how to apply the eyeliner like I see in magazines or tutorials. Thank you BB for changing all of that! After giving up my attempts at trying several years ago, I decided to try this brush and give it one more try. I am soooo glad I did. This is the absolute perfect brush for gel/cream eyeliners. It gives YOU the control. Wether you prefer a super thin or thicker line, it can all be achieved easily with this one brush. This brush is great for getting very close to the lash line. If you want a thicker lining, you will have to repeat the lining several times because the fine tip of this brush produces a very thin line. I actually like that because it is easier to control and makes for fewer mistakes. The downside is that I am used to using a thicker brush and could get coverage (albeit occasionally sloppy coverage) faster using that style. I might end up splurging and purchasing the shading brush by BB as well since hers are such great quality.

I guess if I had to choose I would choose this Liner brush and the gel liner in the jar you use this brush with (like the gel pencil also). Be sure you wash your brush as soon as you use it or it will harden and you will poke into your gel, plus you need it soft to make a smooth line. Love all your eye liners! They Stay on forever even of a morning after you I have taken off makeup nite before it is still there! Maybe a little smeared but its there!

I added this brush to my collection only recently, and I only wish I had done so much sooner! The brush is tapered perfectly for applying a very precise line of gel liner or dark shadow as a liner. I like a thin line that doesn't detract from the shadow I apply, and this is the perfect brush to accomplish that. Since I bought this brush, I have yet to use another liner brush, and I don't anticipate having to do so.

:(this brush is nowhere near as great as, say, a nice angled eyeliner/brow brush for applying gel liner. it is floofy and not dense or hard enough. i get a FAT line w/ this. i am convinced my brush is defective bc it is nothing like what the reviews and description says. too bad i've had it forever and can't exchange it. i just didn't realize how bad it was til i started using angled stiff brushes for my eyeliner. it IS the right brush, i'm just kidding in my title, it just isn't the right fit for me i guess. a bobbi first :(
