Beautiful Colors BUT Highly Pigmented!!!

I was excited to get my hands on these. The colors are gorgeous, so I purchased four of the shades. What I noticed is that each shade has a touch of black and although it glides on easily, the colors were too dark for my taste. Also, you have to work quickly when applying, otherwise it will be difficult to correct which I experienced- I had to remove it completely and start all over. Of the four shades I bought, Mahogany appeared to be the most subtle. Personally, I think I will stick to the gel liner-(sorry Bobbi, I still love your products).

I had given up on eye pencils altogether years ago. Every brand I tried was either too soft, then it smudged, smeared or disappeared within hours. Or the pencil was too hard, then it would tug at my eye lids, lack pigment, and on and on. Enter Bobbi Brown Long-Wear Eye Pencil. Simply fabulous in every way, the texture, the softness, the pigment, and best of all it lasts. I took a two hour hike today to put it to the test and I am amazed to report that it still was *almost* as perfect as it was when I had just put it on. Nice color selection too, I'd like to see a neutral bronze shade added in this formula. Seriously impressive product!

As much as I love the gel liners....I have to admit that I don't always have time to pull out the brush and clean the brush when I'm done...that being said I suppose there are plenty of people in the same boat each morning. And this product is for them! It's so creamy and it does not move! My lids are oily and this holds up all day and looks fresh. I got the navy color first because I have blue green eyes and the blue makes them pop, but I will add smoke and mahogany to my collection because they are that good! The only con is that it's kind of small for the price, but if you use wisely and sharpen conservatively then it's still a good purchase. The downer to pencil is that the tip did break on me causing a premature need to sharpen. But that's just the downside to pencils in general... That being said definitely don't apply with a heavy hand. Fabulous find and I'm loving it!

I just picked up the Jet eyeliner and I am so very happy with it. The color stayed on all day and I didn't get those little black balls in the corner of my eyes that happens with other liners. This liner is smooth, long wearing, and has the intense black color I love. It's like the gel liner in a pencil. Great job BB !!!

I wore the black navy shade today, and it actually stayed put better than gel liner. I'm a melter, and while the gel liner doesn't fade, it usually collects outside the corner of my eyes by midday. I noticed very little of this with the long-wear pencil.As a side note, before it sets, the pencil line is really easy to smudge and blend with an old eyeliner brush for a softer look. Once it sets, it doesn't budge. Highly impressed!

Don't throw away your gel eyeliner

Bought this right away after reading that it's like a pencil version of the gel eyeliner, which i love. I tried it on the back of my hand in the store, and sure enough, it was very resistant to smudging. However, when i used it on my eyes, it smudged and after a few hours i ended up with raccoon eyes (albeit in a beautiful mahogany color). I must say that I used it as tightliner like I do with the gel eyeliner, so maybe it was the oils from my lashes that made it not work so well. I'll stick with the gel eyeliner for day use!

Dry and crumble

I am not sure what the hype is about this eye pencil. It just crumbles into little sand-sized grains when I attempt to apply it. The grains get into my eyes. The only way I can even get any use from it is to dap makeup remover on it and get some on a brush to apply it. The reason it gets 3 stars is for the awesome color. I use Bobbi Brown products alot, but this one is not one I would recommend.

I love these pencils. I have Mahogany and Plum. Beautiful colors and the staying power is amazing. I have somewhat oily eyelids and the lines do not move at all. I use a little long-wear eyeshadow over the pencil line to give a smoky appearance. I'll be back to buy the rest of the collection.

Toughest Eyeliner Critic

I have to be the toughest eyeliner critic Bobbi has because I have deep set, droopy, over-50 eyes. I love the gel liners and gave up on everything else years ago because all other liners ended up everywhere but along my lash line, where the product should be.I'm happy to report this product DOES STAY PUT! It's important to make sure your eye area is free of any oils or eye cream before you apply it, but it even passed the "snooze test"--I took a nap and it was still there!Because it is drier than the gels, I found it a bit more difficult to apply to my lid, but I was able to get a nice, clean line with the pencil. It will also be great to have something to use on my bottom lashes too--where the gels really never looked just right.Since it has been years since I used a pencil, I'll need more practice with this product. But overall I'd say this is hit for me and I'm glad I bought it!

Convenient Eye Liner

I just got the long wear eye liner yesterday and am impressed so far. It definitely works as well as the gel liner. The best part is how convenient it is to put in my bag. I can carry it with me, just in case I want to touch up (I usually won't have to) or intensify. I admit that sometimes, I finish my makeup at work so it makes it very convenient . I bought the Mahogany shade since I usually wear Espresso. I like it, although, I hope there will be more shades in the future. It does glide on nicely and like a previous comment, I smudge it with the regular liner brush. I'm giving it 4 stars for now just to see how well it does last. thank you for creating this product.

I'm not sure why other people are having problems with these, because I love love love mine. They go on so well and stay put. Black Navy is beautiful and neutral enough to go with everything while making my eyes absolutely pop. I prefer these to the gels when I need to get ready quickly in the morning.

I love the gel eyeliner but find pencils more convenient for travel. I purchased this long-wear pencil to replace the Black Plum kohl eye liner that I had been using. I loved the color but the kohl smeared too much for day wear. This formulation goes on as smoothly as the kohl pencil and does having staying power. It will be great for travel, but, the gel eyeliner is still my go-to for most occasions.

I'm so glad Bobbi came out with this long-wear eye pencil. I had been using the gel eyeliners for about a year, but quite frankly I often have difficulty with it in the morning (who isn't rushed???), and personally, I have a hard time getting the gel liner close to my lashline even with the gel eyeliner brush. I love this pencil because I get a clean, tight line that can be smudged out with a brush (I have a smudge brush from another brand). It seems to get better after a couple uses because it softens up a bit. I'll still use the gel eyeliner on occasion, but this long-wear pencil is my daily go-to liner. It looks fresh all day. I started with Mahogany -- it's a close match to Espresso -- and I'm looking forward to trying the plum or navy. Great job, Bobbi!

I purchased these pencils in Mahogany and Black Plum and love them both. I'm 51 and a long time user of the gel liner. I love these pencils because they are faster and user to transport. They smudge well which is great and are easy to apply. Maybe if you have really dry eye lids it would be a problem but I don't. I also am hoping for more colors. I'm going to try the hunter next.

The only reason I am giving this a one is the Black Navy color is lovely, makes blues eyes look wonderful. The first time I used the pencil, the "lead" fell out of the pencil using very little pressure....next time, same thing....3rd time, sharpened again...same thing color point fell out of pencil. Does anyone test these products before offering them to the public?! Do yourself a favor, save your money and stick with the gel eyeliner. Very frustrating product! I will be returning this.....

Just received my first long-wear eye pencil in Hunter. I am a devotee of the gel eyeliner, and thought I would try something new.First of all, the color is nothing like the website - it hardly looks green at all.Second of all, when I opened it for the first time, the whole center color piece came out with the cap! Fortunately I was able to slip it back in w/o it breaking.I haven't actually tried the eye pencil yet, and although I'm expecting it will be long-wearing, I don't have high hopes for liking the color or application.

The new pencil eyeliner stays on forever. The colors are fantastic! I use an eyeliner brush to smudge the under eye line when needed. The ease of usage is much appreciated especially when traveling. Problems with the "lead"

I have trouble getting the gel on straight and thought I would try this. I really do like it, but when I opened the pencil the first a huge piece of the lead fell out. I have read other reviews saying the same thing. I like the ease of putting this on, but if you lose a big chunk of it every time you buy it and some problems when I sharpen it--it's not worth the $$$. Need to do some retooling of this product. I would like to be able to use it!!

It glides on with a light touch, gives a great solid line on both upper and lower lash lines and the color (Black Plum) is amazing. Definitely on my "can't be without" list.

When Bobbi introduced the limited version of this pencil a few months ago I ordered the bronze/chocolate combo and absolutely love it! Now that is down to the nub, I ordered Mahogany, which is supposedly a deep, rich brown. NOT! It come off as grayish on me. I don't see brown at all. It stays on pretty well but is difficult to smudge as it sets really quickly. I sharpened it once and I can see it's going to be used up really quickly. Please put chocolate/bronze back in the lineup!

I like that these long-wear eye pencils are softer & more pigmented than Bobbi's other eyeliner pencils- which are absolute *torture* on the lids (can you say "scrape?")- but somehow... she missed the mark with these pencils, too. My $24 pencil in black navy seems defective; as the point breaks off while gently applying on my upper lid, and the line "skips" while applying. If I hold my lid taut and try to fill-in the skipped areas, the eyeliner crumbles and flakes all over the place. Forget using it on your upper lashline & using an eyelash curler! The line completely transfers to the eyelash curler and comes off your lids! Good-luck trying to re-apply it... as this pencil just crumbles and flakes all over. I tried blending the line with an eyeliner brush, and this also removed the liner instead of smoking it out. ::sigh:: I will stick with Bobbi's gel eyeliner, also.

Long Wear Eye Pencil

I have been using Eye Gel Liner for years, but lately I'm in such a rush in the mornings, I end up finishing up my makeup at the office. I did not want to risk losing my eye liner brush, but needed something with staying power. The Eye Pencil fit the bill!! Love This Pencil

I love this pencil. I have it in four colors - smoke is my favorite as it compliments my blue/green eyes. This product is easy to apply - we all hate pencils that don't glide on and this one glides right on. It stays on forever. I am in SoFl and it is hot and humid here so make-up is put to the challenge and this one wins....quick and easy to apply with staying power!

This pencil actually does what the description says it'll do. I can glide it right on in the morning during my make-up routine and by the time I take my shower at night it's still on...unless i use a light bit of make-up remover when cleansing my face. I love to apply right on the waterline and this eyeliner does not irritate me at all.

Black Navy and Black Plum

Of the two new beautiful shades I tried, Black Navy was THE best.It brightened my eye area! I have light skin, brown/blonde hair, green/blue eyes. (now wear alabaster ).Black Plum is nice too, but darkens the eye area like for evening. Also BPlum made my eyes water, feel scratchy/heavy and couldn't open as wide.

I love my eye liner pencil! I have been using Bobbi Brown makeup for a long time and I don't go out without having my gel eyeliner on. But when I am in a hurry and have to apply eye liner on the run, the eye liner pencil is great. It is easy to apply and it does not run or smudge. It stays on just like the gel eye liner. It is also very portable, it goes in my makeup bag so I have it when I need it. What a great product!

Opened package to find actual liner insert cylinder had slipped out of pencil barrel! Perhaps from heat in shipping? Had to turn. Thankful though that BB emailed me UPS label to affix to return package so didn't have to pay for shipping.I put 2 stars as recommendation cause used this pencil when it was half-n-half with bronze and this didn't happen.

Love the long wear eye pencil! It goes on very smoothly and stays on. The only reason I gave it 4 stars vs 5 is because the tip wears down very quickly and you need to sharpen after each application to get a thin line. Otherwise fantastic!

Great for long-wear, with a few caveats

First off this eye liner does what it says, it stays on. This is great for me for hot yoga and other workouts. A few notes: a few reviews have said it scraped their eyes and was harsh to apply, they must have just not sharpened it because this goes on like warm butter. Second, the brown color is basically black. I had black liner already and wanted something more natural looking, this works, but it's not really brown. And lastly, every time I use this, I break out my smudger sponge that's on the tail end of my regular Bobbi eye liner. I wish they'd have one on these since it's really a necessity to blend it a bit (and no, a finger won't do the job). So if you don't mind taking the extra step, it's a great product. I will hold off on buying another color until they figure out to put a sponge on the back end of the pencil though.

This eyeliner is easy to apply, able to blend it and then it stays put. I come home from work and I still have eyeliner on. Best of all, my sensitive eyes are not allergic to it, which happens with many eye products. Comes with a sharpener. What more could I ask for? :) Oh yeah it came with samples...love samples!

I was so excited to buy these that I bought four more colors after experiencing the long wear of my first purchase--black navy. However, I experienced unreliability depending on the color I chose to wear. Mahogany, smoke, and hunter are beautiful, but they did not last and seemed to bleed onto my lids. Jet and black navy did better, but not as beautifully as some drug store brands. I love the colors, but won't trust any but the jet and black navy to last through a humid night. Expecting them to last all throughout a humid day is way too high of an expectation.I don't mind that they need to be sharpened frequently, only that they are really inconsistent with longevity.I had high hopes for Bobbi Brown, especially since other lines came out with their long wearing eye pencils before Bobbi did. In the future, I'll only buy the two darker colors. Can't commit to most of the colors!

I love the many many Bobbi Brown products I've purchased over the years, but this eye pencil was actually unusable. The first time I tried to apply it, the point fell out. When I tried to sharpen it, the wood splintered and the sharpener chewed up the entire end of the pencil (I was using the sharpener that came with it, by the way). I don't know how the liner works because I was literally unable to apply it and try it out. Very disappointed.

I have loved the long-wear gel pots for so long, but as a working mom I don't always have time to hassle with the brush every morning. I find these to be a great quick solution that provides the same long-lasting results as the pots. I put this on in the morning and it lasts throughout the day including a trip to the gym. My only complaint would be that they need to be sharpened quite often.

...to answer the "I would recommend this to a friend" question. I'd say "maybe" for this product. That is I'd want them to be fully informed about what this pencil is and isn't.First, it is a pencil. It needs to be sharpened. And as a drawback, relatively frequently to hold the edge it needs for a fine line (my preference) right next to the upper lashes.Second, it is a gel. I like that but it is NOT forgiving through smudging if you make an error. In fact, there is no smudge "eraser" end on this pencil. It is meant to go on and stay there, so if you have an "oops..." it is harder to fix. I note some folks have been disappointed there is no 'eraser" end with this. But that makes sense as this is not a product to be smudged out that way.Third, because it is a gel, it glides on and is so much better than BB's older pencils, which were one of the few weak links in the BB line. This one is much improved.Fourth, although there are several colors, I've been very happy with Smoke, a charcoal gray that is a great neutral, not quite as severe as black and does very good things for my green eyes.Fifth, you get what you pay for in BB product quality and I very much appreciate that this pencil, like all the product line, is non irritating to sensitive eyes like mine. Woohoo!Sixth, this really is long wearing. But with this drawback, at least for me, that it does not come off easily with my Bobbi Brown Extra cleanser balm (which I love above all other cleansers I have EVER used for my dry and sensitive skin). All other BB eye products, including the older pencils, remove easily with the Extra balm. Not so much this one.So, some good things. Some "could be better" things. I'll stick with this one until BB introduces something better. But I can't give it an unqualified recommendation to friends.

It Will Outlast You

I have this awesome pencil in Mahogany and this little goody outlasted me. I made the mistake of going to bed without removing my make-up and the next day my cat-eye was still in place and also in my waterline as well. This pencil is also great at tightlining...it doesn't tug at all. It is definitely great holding up in the Florida summer weather so I see myself picking up more shades soon.

As an eyeliner pencil, this one works very well. It glides on easily and lasts all day. Although I'm fairly well accomplished at makeup application, I find applying eyeliner the most challenging and the consistency of this pencil makes it easier to apply well. However, I purchased the Black Navy color hoping for a blue pencil, but the color looks black on me. My experience has been that this problem is not unique to this pencil or to Bobbi Brown. Whenever an eyeliner is called "Black (Fill-in-the-color)," they all look black on me. I would have liked a little more blue pigment in this pencil - not !!BLUE!!, but just a little more blue and a little less black!

This is the must-have eyeliner! I don't leave home without it. It survived two rounds of graduation-ceremony tears! Goes on smoothly and precisely, yet can be blended if desired. Perfect for a sharp waterline effect, and does not migrate into under-eye area. Lasts a little less longer on oilier upper lids, but blending or adding a shadow helps. Comes off easily (and best) with Bobbi Brown eye makeup remover. Great for traveling as it reduces the number of products you will need!

I dont usually write reviews however after reading someone elses comments felt I needed to add my own. I have looked for about 20 yrs for a true navy. Everytime I think I have found one, it turns out medium to dark blue. This black/navy hits a homerun! Its a very dark navy but thats exactly what I wanted. A previous customer said it looked black on her and was too dark. I dont feel it looks black at all. I have the jet and its much darker. This is by far my favorite pencil and color and I have them all. You can't go wrong with these pencils!

I'm a huge Long-Wear Gel Liner fan! I have been using it ever since it came out. I loved it so much, I never used any other eyeliner, especially pencils! So when I saw that she came out with a Pencil form of this incredible formula, I was both excited and apprehensive about trying it. It certainly delivers on staying power, especially if you wear eye shadow (I think the powder helps it stay put). I don't always wear eye shadow, so when I wore this alone, I did see some end-of-the-day smudging; and this very, very rarely happens with the gel formula. Nevertheless, it is such a genius invention! You get the benefits of the Long-Wear effect without needing an eye liner brush. And although I will always love and prefer the gel and the technique and process it requires (which I understand some people just don't like or have time for), I DO like the pencil because of its convenience for on-the-go or travel purposes. A great buy! Another genius invention, Bobbi!

I LOVE, love, love Bobbi's gel liners. They are awesome, and the pencil version is just as great. I will say, I have been using this strictly for my upper waterline because (as some have already said) it can sometimes be hard to get a very precise line. When I go for a more dramatic liner, it's perfect, though. Day-to-day I use it for my waterline only, but this is a really nice product. I am not sure if this is in the permanent line now, but I really hope it is! It is the only liner that won't transfer to my bottom lash line after a few hours! Love!

I like using pencil eyeshadows, but often they wind up wearing off or smearing by the end of the day. I decided to try this one and was pleasantly surprised. It goes on smooth and wears way better than any other pencil I have tried. It stays on so well that I need to use makeup remover to get it all off. On the down side, it does need to be sharpened (sharpener included). Because it stays on so well, it can't be smudged as well as other pencils, but I just go over it with a complementary eye shadow color and I can get that smudged appearance.

I purchased this long-wear pencil online in black, and I have worn it almost exclusively since I received it. I love the look of a liquid or gel liner, but I am totally inept at applying one. This eyeliner solves my application problem! It is soft enough to deposit color without my needing to tug on my skin while being firm enough to stay put all day.The only downside is that it tends to crumble a bit. I work around this by smudging the line a bit with my Bobbi Brown eyeliner brush. I love the sexy look that this creates.I am an older woman and must deal with fine lines in the eye area. Some products only exaggerate the problem, but the line and color created by this pencil are not aging at all. I would buy this again.

The skin under under my top lashes is wide and is bright against the dark lash so I always put liner under my lashes (as well as on top). Every brand I have ever tried doesn't stay put since that part of your eye is "wet". This pencil goes on solid and stays through the day (both over and below my lashes). I have very oily, waxy eyelids and have to be extremely careful of the products I use around my eyes or I will find them on my cheeks within the hour. I have used BB's gel eyeliner with great success, but really wanted something less dramatic and easier to apply for everyday wear. This eye pencil is my answer. I admit I was a little skeptical that this pencil would live up to the long wearing claim, but I'm now a firm believer! I received it yesterday and applied it early in the morning and it was still there at midnight, so it now will have a permanent place in my makeup bag. I never thought that I would like any pencil as much as I like Bobbi's gel eyeliner, but I definitely do this one. It goes on smoothly, no skips or tugs and lasts until I remove it. I got Black Plum and the only negative is that it appears far more black than plum. I just don't see the plum, which is very disappointing. It would be nice if showed up more, otherwise I love this pencil.

This pencil applies in a very distinct, opaque line that I find to be harsh, edgy and difficult to blend. If you are looking for the hard edge liquid liner look this would be great. But I like a softer, blendable pencil that gives a more natural definition. PLEASE BRING BACK THE CREAMY EYE PENCIL!!!!! I don't see why both products can't co-exist for different preferences. Not everyone wants to look like they are headed to a cocktail party every day.

I have a drawer full of eye pencils--either they are too creamy and end up in a mess under my eye, or they are too hard and don't go on smoothly or easily. Finally, leave it to Bobbi Brown to come up with the most divine eye pencil that goes on easily and smoothly in a single stroke and best of all stays put! No smudging, no under eye mess! I am so grateful to have discovered this. The navy looks amazing with my blue eyes but I have also ordered mahogony and jet. The color is super rich and beautiful.

The long-lasting eyeliner pencils have great colors & are wonderful if you're in a hurry or you are traveling. It's not easy to get a point when sharpening these pencils...you have to sharpen the pencils almost every time you use them...sometimes OK if the pencil doesn't have a great point. I did not like this product. The pencil sharpener takes off a lot of the pencil and has to be used very often, whereas the point keeps dulling or breaking off. Therefore, you use the pencil up too quickly. If you don't leave a long point, the pencil would poke in your eye. I will not purchase this one again; the gel goes a lot further for your money.

I have tried Sooo many different eye liners trying to find one that STAYS on your eyes. Well, finally found one! Bobby Browns Pencil eyeliner! Be careful when you sharpen it, only give it a short twist or two to keep it from breaking and you will love it. It does break easy because it is a GEL liner. The trick is just don't overdo it and it will last as long as any other. I will never buy any other eye liner except Bobbi Browns now that I have found it! Thank you Bobbi!

If this is suppose to be similar to the gel, I would rather use the gel. This pencil has to be sharpened CONSTANTLY! The "lead" is very soft and my first one was broken when I got it in the mail (I returned it for a new one at the BB counter). Also, I feel that I wipe under my eyes a lot to clean the smudging.It just wasn't my favorite BB product, I had higher expectations.

I like the ease of using a pencil for eyeliner and decided to try LONG-WEAR EYE PENCIL in JET. It takes a little practice but is fairly easy. I clean up the line with a dampened cotton swab. It is definitely long wearing. It does not wear off during the day and even after washing my face I still have a nice, if somewhat thinner line, the next day. It does remove very easily with eye makeup remover.

the wears well and is smooth but the colors were much darker than they appeared on pictures on the website. In fact had i known that the black, navy black and mahogany were so much a like I wouldn't have purchased all 3 of them.

I was so pleasantly surprised by how easily this eyeliner went on, yet it didn't smudge or smear. Then when I saw how crisp and clean the liner remained throughout a more than 12 hour day and evening, I was even more surprised. Taking it off was easy too. I'm actually looking forward to throwing away a handful of pencils I've hung on to and kept retrying in the hopes they would do what this pencil does - stays where you put it until you want to take it off.

I'm a redhead with hazel eyes whose never ventured away from brown, chocolate, cappuccino or sable colored eye liners, if you know what I mean. I wanted to change it up so I got this dark eggplant color and I love it. Not only do my eyes look green, the eyeliner stays on all day! I'm used to the gel liners and was nervous to try a pencil, but it goes on just as smoothly.

Smudge tip please!!!

I have always been a fan of Bobbi Brown and when I found my eyeliner in Charcoal was running low, purchased the new liner in "Smoke". The color goes on thick, which would be fine if you still included a smudge tip (as you've done in the past) at the opposite end. Qtips are too fuzzy as are my fingertips. Please make this more user friendly! In the meantime, I have to reach for an old BB pencil and use that smudge tip.

This is what I use when too lazy, busy, or traveling, etc. as a substitute for her long-wear cream liner (the one you brush on). TIP: To avoid breakage, refrigerate if you really need to do a lot of sharpening/clean up of the tip. Also, make sure to use a sharpener with the more expensive and better highly tempered steel blades (not in most low priced sharpeners. Another popular professional makeup line makes one) works best. If you don't need to take off a lot of lead and you just need to tweak the point, lightly roll and pinch the tip between thumb and fingers covered by a layer of tissue/kleenex vs actually using a sharpener.Downside of this wonderful product for me is that BB did not make this product in my favorite of her shades: Caviar.

Good but Gel is Better

I purchased this because I tried the gel in the store and thought this would be more convenient for traveling. I have oily skin and by mid day my eyeliner is often smeared below my eyes, and I was excited that the gel eyeliner stayed on and did not smear. Unfortunately, the Long Wear Eye Pencil is not the same product as the gel and often smears after a few hours. Its a good product but not as good as the gel eyeliner.

I have been using the gel liner with a brush for years now, and wanted to give the pencil a try. I forgot how much I LOVE using a pencil...it is so much quicker and easier than the brush,etc. It goes on very smoothly and the color is rich. It lasts all day, but I did notice on longer days the bottom liner wore off and needed touching up. So I have been using the pencil on weekends, since it is so quick and easy to use. I just ordered a second one in the brown...as a make-up junkie, I can definitely see the need to have both the pencils and the gel liner!! Can never have too much of a good thing! ( I do wish the pencil was automatic; you lose a good portion every time you have to sharpen, so I think the $24 price is a little steep- the gel is definitely a better buy)

I've previously tried Bobbi's liners and didn't care for the pencils. I always defaulted to the tried and true gel. But this pencil is an amazing alternative for travel. It glides on smoothly and stays put. ( Even on the waterline which it may not be recommended for) Love the black navy!!!!

I have tried many many pencils, including former Bobbi Brown formulas, and they always wore off, especially when my long bangs would brush my eyelids. This formula stays on the entire day; I rarely, if ever, need to put more on. I am really pleased with the application as well. Thank you for making such a good product. Now, if you would only bring back Sandwash Tulle lipstick, I would be a totally happy customer!

Racoon Eyes...that water

This product is unfortunately going back to the Bobbie Brown counter at the Lord & Taylor where I purchased it. I used it yesterday for the first time, and my eyes were watering all day. When I went to take my makeup off at the end of the day, I was aghast to see that most of the eyeliner had migrated below my eye. I have been using Bobbi's gel eyeliner for many years, and I have had zero allergic reaction to it. Moreover, it stays put. I don't know what's in this, but whatever it is, I'm clearly sensitive to it. I used to think that I had a problem with my eyes watering, and I even talked to my eye doctor about it. Guess what? When I stopped using a Lancome eye cream, the watering stopped. Now, when it occurs again, I assume it's a new product I've added to my regime, and clearly, this one fits the bill.

I am a long-time Bobbi Brown fan; I have been using her products for close to 15 years. I love the soft, natural look that they give me - people see me, not heavy makeup. I have many of her products in my makeup kit: cleanser, moisturizer, eye cream, foundation, cover-up, eye shadow, bronzer, lipstick, mascara and eye pencils. I LOVED her creamy eye pencils, which applied beautifully, was easy to work with, and (if you used eyelid primer) generally stayed in place. Unfortunately, she discontinued the creamy pencils and has replaced them with the long-wear pencils. I have tried her long-wear eye pencil and keep trying to love it - I just don't. The product is long-wearing, but doesn't blend the way her creamy pencils did - I find that it provides a very harsh look (think 1980's raccoon eyes). The pencil is hard to apply in a thin line, and doesn't have the softness (either in appearance or application) that her creamy eye pencils did. Apply it carefully, because it sets within 30 seconds - there is no room for mistakes with this newer long-wearing pencil. I am hoarding my creamy eye pencils - and have gone back to the Lancome Le Crayon Khol that I used to use - it's the closest match to the Bobbi creamy eye pencil that I've been able to find. Wish she'd bring back the creamy eye pencil - this one is simply too harsh!

This is a great liner! Easy to get an even line, blends until it sets, then really stays put. I purchased black plum which is just a hint of the plum color. I love it with the violet plum cream shadow stick. Colors are still natural.

I was an avid user of BB's old eyeliner pencil and was looking forward to the "new and improved". But, I was so disappointed. First of all, they no longer have a medium brown. The mahogany is essentially black. There is no way to get a "smudged" or soft look - so if you don't like a sharp and dark line on your eye, you won't like this pencil.

I gave it to my granddaughter she loves it. The pencil was to much for an older woman. I prefer a black eyebrow pencil. I can put on amount needed and smudge. I purchased a B. B. pencil with a rubber tip on the end some time ago but cant find it again. The eyebrow pencils you now have do not come in black. I cant find a good one.

I like this eyeliner but my main complaint is it doesn't stay sharp. So it's hard to get a nice line. It's always too thick. Unless you sharpen it each time but then you'd use the pencil up in like a few weeks!

I bought this with high hopes. Unfortunately, I"m only 1/2 way through it and the color inside has separated from the edges. The old eye liner was wood and held onto the color. This is made with some sort of plastic. Now, the color inside totally moves around. Definitely NOT an improvement from the old one. BOO
